Tbh Manhwa (korean) has many blank spaces hence the longer pages. Not to say that they are not long chapters, manhua has long chapters too but not many of them are translated.

Think of it as laying the foundations, tbh whatever you said all plays a part or continues to be relevant in the manhua still, eg. imaginary world, I'm separating the arcs based on imaginary world, I imagine it's the same for the author too. Succubi and master, it's a "bigger" plot end goal kind of thing, like a boss fight?

school, there's 7 schools or something. It's relevant, not going to spoil much.

Princess, she's here to stay.

Gardener, well, he's a mysterious figure but it's nice to give a face to the person who gave him a place to stay, his demon spirit seed, helped him with his basement items to escape the succubi. He can just be a temp. character or turn out to be someone important you never know, but for now he seems more like a temp. character.

Well basically I'm trying to rush to 63 as well on my end so wait for it :^)

Yeah, there are some blank spaces in some stories, but there are still tons of content that make up for it, and I feel that I got "my fill."

I understand the foundations, but I feel everything happened very fast. i.e., he joined the school, took the magic test, failed, then went back home and at night he ran into the succubus and the boys from earlier and then got his magic. Met the principal and was tasked with succubus extermination. All of this without even attending a day of school.. Then we have the whole princess coming to school on the first day and all this and that, and then finally this current situation... all on the first day.

I just feel, IMO, that these events could have been spread out more, but maybe it's just that it's been awhile since chapter 1, and maybe it just feels longer, but I feel everything could have been spaced out better. I do understand that a lot of "Filler space" is created when you have events spread over time but it is nice, imo to space out some events.

Not sure how others feel, but feel free to comment, I'm interested in how other people feel about it. I'll be re-reading the chapters at some point (if I continue with this) so maybe it will feel different if I binge read.

So the succubi and "master" is a big arc then? It felt as if it would be over decently soon, but maybe not. This master must be something if he can control such a powerful knight, which I believe it said he was a level 8 knight?

That's a shame he's a temp character, but I understand how it could be that way... however, he had Moi Fei's seed, and it was a special seed, with a special color (compared to the principal's seeds), so he definitely isn't some random, imo. I just cannot see someone random posessing such a powerful seed. Plus, he's a gardener.. How did he know all about the types of magic that are used in this world? He was able to tell Ying Ding about all of the different types of magics, as well as information about the spirit seed. Idc how much you know about plants, you shouldn't know anything about the demon seed. I bet that only a handful of people in this world know about it. The princess herself mentioned she heard about the demon spirits, but doesn't remember much, which indicates that as royalty she heard about it, or that she doesn't remember her studies(that everyone would get). I feel that only a select few teachers, including the principal, know about it, besides Royalty/scholars. I just can't see how it's a known fact about the demon spriits... It's possible but... Doubtful, imo.

Chapters in manga(and the like) range from this(9-10 pages) to about 50 per chapter. TBH I notice much larger chapters in Chinese and Korean literature, so I'm really surprised this is so damn short. Even with 25 chapters things are going a bit slow for me, maybe it's just because it's spread out so long.

Yeah, I've been here from the start, and I still do appreciate your work greatly, I'm just getting a bit tired. Maybe I should do what I sometimes do a let the story pile up, and then binge read 50 chapters...

I will try to read a bit more per your recommendation, and I understand world-building/character-dev, and all that stuff, but I just wish it stayed on one path. It's going all over. From the MC and his powers, to the school, to the princess, to the gardener, to this imaginary world, to the succubi and "master," it just is getting a bit vast, for just starting out, imo.

Based on pages, yeah, 1 chapter of manga is usually 20 pages, so at chapter 50 of DSSM it's about chapter 25 of a regular manga. I can't explain this well but DSSM chapter kind of flows, that's why it feels short with that and it's 9 pages average.

You're one of the readers at the start when I began translating. The next few chapters are basically getting into it. Arc 1 ends at chapter 63, and I'm taking a break there as well. I suggest just reading on till chapter 63 and then decide whether you want to carry on with arc 2. The story begins to have direction now basically. The first many chapters were introducing the characters and basically "world building" a little since this isn't a novel, when I read on I have thoughts like "yeah, there was 7 academies or something like it said at the start". But basically, stick around till 63 and decide then ^^

As much as I liked this at the start, I don't know if I will continue reading much longer. I find that at 50 chapters, we barely have scratched the intro to this story. I find that the elements are interesting, but the story is all over the place.

Does anyone else feel like I do? I just wish that the focus stayed on one things, but we are getting into all sorts of situations.
