The oneshot will only work if you are a handsome guy

The guy from the oneshot, Mishida, he's a sly one.

The whole story, he played up the bubbly, friendly guy act, and made himself out to be a little short on brains but with an abundance of love for people and animals. He even went so far as to lay his hand on the table and talk about his hope to be a house-husband in the future, plainly portraying himself as a harmless and straightforward guy.

But would a harmless and guileless man quietly insert himself into a stranger's life like that? Could a simple, straightforward man slip into her routine with such insidious ease that she herself didn't realize it was happening until the end of the first week?

No, my friends, this is not simple man. Within the first day of realizing she had both a house with extra rooms to live in and funds from her parents to get by on, he began to coax from her everything he needed to know. He smoothly unearthed her plans for the future (such as they were), and noted that she had  the intelligence and self-awareness to probably sustain a healthy career in the future. Over the course of the next week, he quietly made himself a helpful and regular part of her life, and dug further to find what she was most passionate about so as to confirm the kind of career she'd have. Knowing, then, that there was a very good chance she'd be able to support a small household in the future, he leapt at the opening she showed during their last discussion we see, and in doing so provided himself a reason to continue visiting her and spending time at her house in the future.

And what was the end goal, you might ask? He already stated it, right from the beginning: He will become a house husband, provided for and given free reign over the house they will live in. A life of relative comfort and freedom, in comparison with the torment that is the modern working world. And it looks like she's been caught and reeled in by him, hook, line, and sinker. Mattsun's future was decided the moment she let him into the house.

What a terrifying man.

So what we're saying is he's exactly like a "traditional" woman.  And that's terrifying.

You know the level of this manga is just too high when an extra-chapter is even far, far better than most good oneshots.

That oneshot needs a continuation.

Machida is too kind and pure I'm weak

Nothing to cure a bad day like a warm cup of tea, a nice big blanket over you and a chapter of Machida-kun.

This reminds me of Angel Densetsu. It's a great feel good manga as well. Just with more... "action", I guess I'll call it.

Ah Machida-kun, the only MC I can think of that can make anyone blush just by holding their hands. A silly stye has done nothing to quell your power.

sigh... i wish i could be like machida-kun but i just can't bring myself to like people that much

We are always bombarded with so many stories of people being awful toward one another, on the media, the internet and real life. It causes people to internalize those bad feelings toward others and form a prejudice against humans. But there aren't more people being jerks than people being kind to one another- it's just less drama so it's not news and stories don't spread much . If you really want to like people, it might help erode those internalized feelings if every day you look up stories of people helping each other, making sacrifices for each other, happily caring for one another, saving each other etc.

Also, Humans of New York!! A great photographer not only taking portraits but sharing the subject's story. A beautiful project celebrating humanity.
