MC was a wearing a blade resistant glove, rather than blade proof. They only stop cuts applied up to a certain level of pressure. Tightly gripping a sharp knife would cut through. It's chainmail or metal mesh gloves that would be able to directly stop a sharp blade.
Christie's blade would have to be pretty blunt for him to be able to simply grab it like that. Pretty unbefitting of a hitman trained since birth to have a blunt knife, but whatever.

I like to think that the MC has monstrous grip strength, and the inside of his fingers didn't even have to touch the sharp edge of the knife to stop it.

This what I've gathered from the past 15 minutes of research, anyway

Sarah is determined to change her career, i don't found it strange for her to intentionally bring a blunt blade.

 

We also have to take account MC's latent martial ability, like when he easily overthrow and disarm Sarah on that same chapter.

 

For all we know he can easily stop that blade with one hand, he just wore the glove first for safety protocol.

The MC looks like a weakling but, he easily passedtrough the Tsukiko's security set up and even able to block all her attacks in Chapter 5. Dont tell me he actually has Evil Psycopath alter ego that sniffed by school principal.

 

It's more like he's readily available to avoid danger. Probably built up a resistance to traps and learned CQC to avoid getting stabbed to death.

This guy is a natural criminal mastermind. His innate ability to gather criminals is self-misunderstood. In chapter 5 we see how he was able to unwittingly utilize his classmates abilities to find him. The principal is right, the moment this guy decides to go rogue, he will drop off the grid immediately.

Somehow I imagine him in a standoff with the principal, having gone rogue, literally begging to be taken in after building up a super network of criminal activity. Of course, none of this by his own will, but rather forced into the position of playing the bad guy.

I just found this today, and the art style looks really familiar for some reason. Especially the reaction faces - they really remind me of Nichijou!
