Maou no Hajimekata - The Comic

"Don't like, don't read" is a weak excuse for having terrible story, setting, characters and even artwork.

 

A manga like this really doesn't really need or deserve anyone's defense. Hell, I'm not even sure this story can be defended as a power fantasy, wish fulfillment story when there are so much better ones out there that doesn't have characters as boring as sin.

It's not an excuse at all. Simply, if you don't like it, then don't read it, don't contribute to its popularity and don't buy any goods related to it. If enough people do it then it gets axed, as it should in a free market. However, if other people like it, despite all of it's flaws, it will go on regardless, but it still shouldn't affect you because I assume at that point you won't be reading it anyway.

Just try not to get into a "stop liking what I don't like" mentality, if people enjoy this and still want to keep reading then there isn't much you can do about it except for suggesting a similar but better work.

So I see there is much issue with this series. I bring up(not sure if others already brought it up though) "Himekishi ga Classmate!"(also handled by Rapeman) which is extremely similar but with a Teen MC(as you can guess from title), instead of this old dude that failed to fix his complex despite having 70 years. >_>

Now I'm not saying one is better than the other, but I think this is the one with more tactics and planning involved. If anything, this is basically Overlord meets Himekishi ga Classmate. I'm sure there are other examples, but those are what I got. 

The MC is certainly an attempt at a "cynical/realistic character" crossed with all of the porn the target audience reads. =P

Problem is, there is better porn out there if you want your erotica stimulus, and the cynical perspective is lost in the mind break, rape fantasy, harem building, mary sue narrative. =\

There probably are. But they get buried by all the fags going on and on about how friendship is power and how it can defeat anything shortly before pulling out a new convenient power-up right out of their asses.

Don't get me wrong, I am horribly disappointed by this as well. I came here in hopes of reading a dark story about an MC who gets shit done the realistic way, without relying on rose-colored fantasies about friendship and/or tits, but in the end, it's just about banging chicks. Still, as boring as it is, I will still take this junk over bullshit such as Kirito, Naruto or [place your generic shounen protagonist right here]. At the very least, you can say that this MC has balls. Even if he just uses them to get laid. Still more than any other shounen protagonists achieve in 300+ chapters of boring, washed-out plot.

Japan apparently can't get its shit together and tell stories anymore, let alone create characters that aren't either 100% white or 100% black.

 You'll essentially asking us to follow a MC who is an unrepentant rapist, who slaughters people en masse and tricks and coerces women into sleeping with him, turn them into sex slaves all in order to gather forces so he may do the same to  even more people.

I have no problem with this. I do not get my morals or codes from comic books so this isn't an issue.

If nothing else this story proves the importance of narrative consistency.

Disappoint! There's no point "reading" this manga without the smut! Know your audience!

Currently i following three manga about become a demon lord, including this.

Helck has become less "become a demon lord" to "Rello delivers"

Overlord manga is kind hit or miss, but the Novel is good.

Maou no Hajimekata... its feels like half-baked KuroInu (you perverts know this title). The only reason i keep this on follow note is because i wonder how this manga will end (if we ever see this ended before get axed by Batoto).

"All according to Keikaku" The manga with Sex scenes included. If you are only interested in seeing ladies getting sexed up, then I recommend this, but if you don't like an excess of that then don't read this. It is pretty much all about the sex after a certain point, kinda disappointing cause I thought it would be more than that.

I couldn't even bother to read most of this chapter and just skimmed through.  I mean it started with "let's play a game", and so you knew there was only one way it could go down.

Some little oversight in the exhaustive rules that she doesn't notice or wasn't said that will lead to her being molested and/or raped.  Because obviously.  Any character other than Aur has about as much purpose in this series as a mouse in a lab maze, and about as much effect on Aur as well.  It's basically just reading about him comfortably dicking around with everyone he meets as a hobby.

Art's kind of nice.

Honestly, the author needs to make up his mind whether he wants this to be an H-manga or fantasy manga with smut. It's okay if the story employs elements of either, but it started off as a fantasy and then just went straight to the "let's have sex with everything" route. I was looking forward to a dark fantasy story, not a sub-par H-doujin that doesn't really do anything for me. I've seen H-doujins with better plot progression and scenes than this, which is pretty disappointing.
