The one on page six, I didn't get all too well (though I think I have a slight guess that it has something to do with the birds all claiming to be Hirokazu)

not so sure either, but sometimes mangaka add genre in the middle of series ...

(it happen quite often lately, drama or slice of life appear latter ... or even tragedy in the middle of Comedy-ecchi genre ...)

One of the awesome thing of this manga is how the birds depicted either very cute or ultra disturbing mmm...

Bird eyes and brains are not as good at putting together 3d images as our own so they do the head bobbing thing to get a better picture of size and distance. 

 

Those little owls are sizing up the huge monster approaching them and the result is an abundance of cute

 

This means a proper avian greeting is to give the other person a good look over.  Sounds sensible enough. 

Actually, if I remember correctly, the eyes of owls are not spherical but more cylindrical so they can not turn them and have a blind spot right in front of them. Therefore they've developed their neck to be able to rotate almost 180 deg and the panning motion of the head to actually see everything in front..

I'm so glad this is back. I kept seeing Volume 2 on the author's Twitter and it was driving me nuts.

I thought, at first, there was a girl taking off her mask on page 17, but that's just her clavicle and cleavage.
