sigh... man cant wait...!!
Since I didn't start reading this until now, I don't really think it's slow because the character development is presented well and it isn't like he is weak or anything like that. And unlike some mangas where: the main characters are presented as such great geniuses that they could practically do anything already --> then meet stronger guy and get beaten into a pulp --> mope --> train and get better --> (repeat cycle)...
This manga gives you a character (actually several) that starts off with untapped potential and shows how they develop into something great.
Plus, it's nice to read a sports manga that doesn't attach fancy names to techniques or whatnot
(Currently in chapter 39 and will keep reading through the end)
