Description: | It was in the year 2800 of the Midgard calendar. Back then, there was a Overlord who once reigned supreme and had reached the very brink of subduing the world. Her name was Lufasu Mafaalu, a great woman dreaded as the Black-Winged Overlord. She was too strong, too fast, and too beautiful… However, she was defeated by Heroes who opposed her ferocity, and her ambition was brought to an end. ――or so went the story of our protagonist’s in-game character, whose body he now possesses for some reason in a world 200 years after Lufasu’s downfall. Follow our protagonist as he becomes unnecessarily feared by his surroundings and unnecessarily worshiped by his former subordinates as he―or now she―cheerfully travels around this fantasy world. Deeply saddened that Aries didn't revert to a tiny, fluffy, ball of angry fur.
Ugh, freakin' lolis ruin everything, oh well, I'll just pretend they don't exist~
aww i really liked to be a cutie sheep again.. so unfair why a loli? its not like MC its guy and i am not into yuri >.<
You can see Aries-chan on one of the pages of chapter one.
What a bro.
What's the authors name so I can go to his website and pay my respects?
Edit: ninja'd
According to the new translator, the author changed his opinion. Apparently he is now okay with fan-translations of his web novel.
This is what Shurim - the new translator - said on his website:
"We have already contacted the author. He gave us the green light ;D"
I think Este tried to, but the author said they didn't want anyone translating the series (to English, I think they cited a lack of confidence in their work? can't remember).
Oh he can do even better.
I hope someone tranlated the LN. I like the possibility of have WN and LN
Hey, sheep can get pretty pissy if they aren't shorn.
Things are getting exciting. How will Lufasu deal with her delinquent child? XD I also want to see what the heck is up with the heroes. Are they "players" or are they "in character"? Just what's going on with this world?
One of the heroes.
Who is girl there btw?
Doesn't seem like there is anyone interesting in translating light novel version xD
For anyone who cares, the WN translation for this is now ongoing and LN volume 5 is coming out.
Cover.
aw, little baby rainbow sheep. hope he can switch between being a giant sheep and a tiny one.
But it's not just a transfer, it's a retroactive transfer. Apparently, all the game stuff really happened in this world. If it's not possible to get to maximum level without resurrection, then how was it done in the first place?
I get that there are all these restrictions on resurrection spells in various forms of media but I just don't think it should be flat out ignored, especially since resurrecting is such a massive part of a MMORPG.
Alternatively, you can also just say that you don't need to kill monsters to get stronger, if it seems to outlandish to be accomplished in "reality". Ultima Online has, what I feel, is the closest system to this game's class system. You get X amount cap of skill points to train and distribute for various classes for a character, and you just train the classes by using those abilities. You don't need to make a game that revolves around exp.
don't worry you're not rude at all.
Human's ego and pride is strong after all... so its not weird that they think they are superior just because of numbers.
but in this manga we see that numbers alone cannot helping them. and they concerned to the corner of the world. they survive because there's heroes there.
even MC is curious about that, probably She would get explanation from the Heroes and her General about that world and why they didn't even get stronger at all.
Sadly this isnt a game anymore. As in Overlord and nice mangas and ofc this one heads to that direction too. Lesser races are mortal/have a limit they cannot surpass. Heroes are special existences. This game became real at that moment, it is not like SAO. It is a fantasy world. I like to treat lvls, skills etc as tools for the mangaka/writer to explain stuff, so we can compare things/power levels. She is an actual angel for the humans a supernatural entity. How could they rival her or even mere demons. With numbers, mages they could balance things out (against the demon peons and the low quality troops) but as you saw they are nothing like back then. Consider the demon generals and other elite officers of Demon Army. + With lowered population there is a lower chance for talented heroes to show up/born.
This is why traditional fantasy makes no sense, humans as dominant race dont make me laugh. It makes me laugh when humans beat all the higher races AT THE SAME TIME. fighting against 1 v x and owning like a boss. Humans couldnt even reach a level to challenge all the world. We would have to assume (human domination to happen) others sitting on their butts ofc and not opposing them. It is naivety to think something like this.
(I hope I wasnt rude Sry if seemed like that)
This affectation with different fonts and colors is, to put it in anime/manga terms, some chuunibyou shit. It drives me up a wall. Maybe it's because I did it once upon a time as a kid and it's, on some level, reminding me of my own repressed shame? I dunno, but it's the literal worst.
That aside, I think the discussion about video game resurrection in a manga's setting goes out the window the second the world stops being a game and becomes reality. Rules tend to be bent in a game world's lore explicitly for the sake of fun game mechanics, but aren't necessarily things that would be possible within that world otherwise.
Even in D&D the earliest spells for resurrecting the dead are often relatively high level compared to what the average person in a setting would typically achieve, and there's usually the penalty of negative levels or constitution drain when too weak, and further limitations on how long you have to resurrect them before it's too late. That also means a healer has to go out earning levels to be capable of such things without dying themselves; certainly no easy task in a setting where any intelligent foe might identify a healer as a prime target.
People talk a lot about casters in these kind of settings but really the primary reason any caster lives to a middling level in many RPG settings is because there were front line fighters eating a world of shit (often when they're also low-level and barely have the extra health to lose) to keep the casters alive until they reached the levels where their spells can carry the party thereafter. In a game it's easy to be the tank because even when people let you down it's a game. In a realistic setting it isn't so easy to find people willing to risk their only life and sustain painful injury for the sake of others when they have a choice not to and otherwise need to depend on those individuals to make it worth their time and suffering some time in the future.
