Wow, that was a decently hard hitter on all emotional fronts. I really liked it, definitely going to be coming back and reading this again in the future.

Yup. Nice twists, there, for a one-shot. (Although the ending was kind of predictable.) (Then again, as soon as you see the "romance" tag on a one-shot, that particular bit is spoiled.)
