However, his seat is in front of the weird girl in the class, Fujimori Miya, who claims she is a witch and who everyone in the school avoids. Miya, for some odd reason, takes a creepy interest in Ryusuke and makes him the subject of all her crazy experiments and spells.

This must be mislabeled as shounen, the art look's like shoujo, plot feels like shoujo, a wimpy male character like shoujo. No-class teacher who must be mom's old flame who is going to take his revenge on an innocent boy like a shoujo plot development. Of course having the scanlation group called SHOUJO-SENSE might have been another hint that this series was NOT SHOUNEN. The most convincing thing was in just a 6 page chapter it totally ticked me off.

1) Art may differ depending on the author and magazine. Tokyo innocent, Pandora hearts and a lot of other shounen series have shoujo-like drawings.
2)Plot? In 6 pages?
3) Wimpy characters are cultivated in generations are prerogative of shounen. Shoujo mangas usually have superhuman supercool hunks , that are even more disgusting than wimpy shounen characters.
4) About the teacher. Again, you are thinking too much of 6 pages chapter. He is probably just tactless man. But again, teachers being tactless is nonsense, so you can be right and he has some dark intentions
