Kousuke has a boring high-school life, but he sits next to his crush--the really popular, cute Tsukahara Meguru, who has a cool, stoic personality. One day, his parents announce that they're moving, but that he'll still be able to attend the same school. The new apartment building has a lovely river and friendly neighbors... and it is next door to where Tsukahara lives! Outside of school, she seems to have a completely different personality, friendly and a little quirky. She makes him promise not to tell the others at school how she acts at home, but why does she put on such an act for her classmates? [tethysdust] |

Yeah she explained that.early on in. When she confessed to Tsubasa all hell broke loose and in the aftermath she decided to shut out everything and everyone by putting on a stoic front.
On a side note Tsubasa may be a girl.. she's still a bro in my book.
Is it only me or did the ending seem rushed? I relly enjoyed the series but the ending had no real drama.
So uh, did we ever find out why Meguru was always stoic at school?
(not spoiler, just following picture policy)
Damn. I still wish I could give this a few more likes.
What? That's really common in ending of manga with romance (or even one without romance). It's just better because it tying up the loose ends compared to the one that ended right after the confession.
Although I kinda want to see little bit more of Seiji x Kururi
Thanks a lot to Bosen and to all the other groups that worked in this project throughout the past months, you rock guys!!
Cute little story. I liked it, progressed well. Good they're a nice happy family. And Afro was the king wingman and best character.
Even Afro has kids!
I have to say that I really enjoyed this manga. Yes, it was axed way too soon. Like Zahylon, I would have enjoyed seeing the progress of their story after confession. I really enjoyed the somewhat off-the-wall humor, with the dirty-minded, dinner-crashing old ladies, among other things. One of the things I liked was that the author didn't beat the gags to death, but went right on to something else. Humor, like pathos, can definitely be overdrawn, and it wasn't in this story. I also have to stand up for the mc. He is kind of indecisive and a little bland, but I consider that a triumph of character on his part. If I had been raised by an overt and self-confessed lickspittle like his father, I would have gone and lived in a cave.
Oh man, this manga was short, and with a generic story...but I liked it. Chapters felt really good, there was no forced drama and everything played smoothly. Sadly the ending is very rushed, the manga got axed badly. I wanted to see more how their relationship would develop, if her attitude at the school would change and many things more. But, well, a Pure Vanilla ending is fine too. In fact, I'd like more manga ending with a sweet scene like that one.
Holy crap! That went from Confession to having a kid around 8 years old in what...3? 4 chapters? That's the most rushed ending I've ever seen.
It's hard to imagine how you could make more sense of it without at least a couple of sentences of TL notes, and I dunno how you could fit those in a table of contents. You did as well as anyone could, I think.
Concepts just don't always translate literally - a lot of language is metaphor and shorthand. Otherwise, sometimes literally explaining something would take half an hour, instead of a few minutes with the language we have. But different languages get concepts across in different ways, and trying to bridge the gap with just a few words can be as hard as trying to open a combination lock with a hotel cardkey.

What you said. All I'd add is "A warm studio apt with the very basics isn't much, but in the winter I'll take it over a beautiful old-style home with no roof or running water." In the manga world, it seems like there are at least 9 obviously-axed titles for every one with decent closure
he just spawns other mini afros with his conscience on them, so he will keep on living forever
we all know we will forget the character of this manga, but Afro will be always in our memories
Afro > Kururi > Meguru
Ok thats it .. thx for the Bosen Scanlation team for bringing this manga so we all can read it .. yeah must admit that the story is really generic though
That's all folks!
is afro immortal or something? he doesn't change at all.
He's definitely way cooler than the MC.
It ends too suddenly. The conclusion itself is nice, though. All it really needs is a few more chapters leading up to it and more details about other characters in the ending itself. I want to see more of the neighborhood bro and the little sister.
I'd say that the ending isn't really well done or anything but at least it gives us some closure. I'll take this over those undecided, open ending any day.
rushed like hell. and afro is a kind of amoeba, i think..
Afro is half cat half dust bunny.
They replicate by mitosis.
nice to see this finished, many thanks for that. but why the heck was meguru's face obscured at the end? kinda looks like a character from a flashback who has died or some side character that way
Best side character ever
the Side character and her sister has a better romance story.
