How come we don't see switch pitchers in these kinds of manga? I don't think Major has one too

Cause you need to change the glove every time you pitch, so it's normally done in between innings to avoid delaying the game, you can't bring two gloves onto the mound.  But if you can pitch with a southpaw, everyone and their dog will want you to pitch southpaw (unless you are the only pitcher.... which isn't common in modern baseball),  Different story in women softball back in the days though.  Switch hand if one hand doesn't work out, switch back the following rotation if it's even worse than the first hand.

Do you mean switch-hitters? Because Major definitely has one in Joe Gibson Jr.

About bloody time Sawamura learns a breaking ball. I'm thinking it's going to be something unconventional like a screwball. Maybe a knuckle or a slider.

Lol sawumara amazing at bunt only. haha~

thank again for the new release!

Huh? Seeing as the date of your post is June 21st, nobody had thrown a knuckle ball yet in the manga. Tanba's newly learned final pitch is a fork ball, which is a breaking fast ball. A knuckle ball is a difficult to master pitch that I've rarely ever seen and they're a little freaky to watch. You grab the baseball using your fingernails (not the fingers) and sort of "push" the ball forward rather than throw. This creates a no-spin ball that wobbles through the air and is almost impossible to hit as the trajectory is completely random according to the air conditions such as wind. Knuckle balls just got introduced in Ch. 135 so I'm sure it'll be explained in more detail soon.

haha sorry but when I posted that I just finished watching one outs (great anime btw) and there was an arc about the knuckle ball which was one teams secret technique haha, I think I posted that after a chapter where someone was gonna throw their secret pitch and I was guessing it was a knuckle ball

KNUCKLE BALL???

i've been wondering. is the professor really a women? i thought she a guy by the her look. suddenly on 135 they pronounce the proffesor as her. haha Look can be decieving huh. :D

Her first name is Sanae which is very feminine. So yes, a woman.

The wait for new chapters can get unbearable.

hmmm upset inc?

Exactly.

Wall of nonsensical text omitted...

I made my comment off the fact that they came to their conclusion based on reading a manga or two. Not that I was bothered to read your Wikipedia response anyways. I mean it's baseball were talking about after all and not nuclear fusion.

Now go stand in the corner for trying to act like a know-it-all genius.

wow so fast!

That's the most retarded comment I've seen in awhile!

and this is the most retarded comment I've seen in awhile!

His comment is true depending on the metric, baseball is unfortunately dying in the US due to the "slowness" of the game (and mostly just dead in Canada, leagues are fewer with the move to soccer due to costs to parents).  It doesn't appeal to the new generations and corporate attendance (actual attendance and not seat purchase) have tapered off since the 90's (when they shifted the stadiums away from the downtown cores and working class area and tried to move them to the suburbs to focus on corporate and luxury sales).  Don't think I'll have to get into the digital electronics (general -as in goods not directly produced by the pro league- goods in regards to baseball heavily favour the japanese).

You also have to remember that interschool, city and state leagues are dying (a few dead ones out there already iirc) thanks to NCLB policy as well as funding cuts and american football hogging sport budgets in many instances.  There are kids that only heard of baseball and have never played the game before (unless you count playing catch).

Per capita and age demographics (aside from baby boomers and silent generation) I'd say expers was correct.  Sheer number and demographic of baby boomers/silent generation would probably be the only exceptions.

It may only be me, but I find it sad that many Japanese seem to know more about Baseball than most Americans. At least that is the opion I reached after reading/watching Major and H2.

That's the most retarded comment I've seen in awhile!

Yeay new chapter! So that mean this manga doesnot drop on your list! Thank iMangaScans!

Awesome manga. Now I only wish Furuya got out of Sawamura's way.
