WHAT A TEASE.
Just got my copy of Volume 5 in the mail. Not sure if it was mentioned here before, but the obi says there will be a drama CD released in January.
He shares a three mole birthmark with his twin sister. Guy recognized it and just never told him.
They took everything. They specifically said something about removing any proof he's male.
You do realize that either way, he's not having kids right?
Well. Time to wait for months again. ;A;
sorry if I'm asking, just had to be sure, I mean...
What's a King without the Power to make Heir?
Announcement: "Only males may ascend the throne"
Albert: "Gottem"
well be fair he thinks he is the only male royal left
>Only males belonging to the royal family may ascend the throne.
>Albert is male.
...Olivier just scored a massive own goal?
Simple because "Alexia" is actually beloved by the majority of the population (male and female). It was only the radical faction that got out of hand. When "she" made her presentation and "came back" from the dead it also helped to deify "her" (giving mandate of heaven) and at this point the population is beginning to figure out that their "helpers" to the revolution were false friends and it was nothing more than usurpation. Finally, "evidence" of right of rule needs to be established. Albert CANNOT prove anything that would make him qualified as a Ruler. He has neither the time nor the capability of establishing that as "Albert". What do you think happens where the people realize that Alexia was betrayed as a plot by Mevin? "She" gains popular support because you know what people hate more than an unjust current ruling family? An unjust despotic usurping regime forced upon them by invaders. In this case the "Princess in Exile" becomes a symbol of Liberation and hope. And if "she" uses her messaging right "she" can inspire men and women alike to take up arms to throw out the despots and form a new revolution. Albert would just be "some kid coming in from somewhere else" but, Alexia has an authority to rule. And the one thing people are consistent about it's choosing the lesser of two perceived evils.
"I see lilies" lol
Seriously, why is he pretending to be Alexia still? The country just had a revolution to abolish the matriarchy. And it is by no means something to be totally reversed. If anything you need to take 2 steps forward and one step back when a country goes through rapid change sociologically. Here's how an armed revolution works in theory:
1). Violent revolution by disenfranchised against the group of peoples in power
2). Group of peoples in power now are the disenfranchised
3). Moderates (among the former disenfranchised) remove the original revolutionaries as the populace realizes that just reversing roles isn't a solution to the problems their country faces.
Albert has no chance as Alexia. He's a symbol of the old regime and appeases nobody. For the revolutionaries he's just a continuation of the same monarchy that oppressed them, and for the people removed from power he's a symbol of their monarchy's failure to protect them.
Now if Albert debuted as Alexia's male twin (a secret descendant that has his foot in both camps while aligned with neither), he could quickly gain support among the moderates and disenfranchised. Now since this was a staged revolution funded by a third party, things won't be all peaches and daisies, but they'd still be substantially less difficult. He's been learning to run the country for the last several years, he's popular among the people, his story is a good one (very sympathetic), he's among the people most subject to the oppression of the old regime, but still familiar enough with it's inner-workings that he can maintain the country's infrastructure while transitioning to constitutional government or what have you. The women would see him as a return to power of the people who used to be in charge despite his biological gender (taking what they can get basically), and the men would see him as able to deliberate with bias in their favor because of his biological gender.
I know in the end he'll just declare himself as Albert anyways, but they could skip a couple steps (and volumes) by actually thinking things out logically and not just sauntering off back to their country, embers still fresh from a bloody revolution against them (as a symbol moreso than person).
Well, I've read all the available chapters and I like where this is going.
On a side note, while I love Nicola, I cringe every time I read her name - 'Nicola' is Italian for 'Nicholas', which is used for boys here.
Who knows, it's possible. She has been dragging out the series for like 5+ years now. We won't know for about another year when Volume 6 comes out though, unless she's suddenly increased the release pace.
As for story itself, I guess the next volume (ch. 32-39) is the last?..
I almost unknowingly made basically this post again, 'cause I still think this manga is just so great and I'm glad it still gets updates.
I had no idea this series had progressed this far, just read the first few chapters back in 2012 and then forgot about it.
Time to catch up I guess.
Officially yes, but I believe it's been "unofficially" confirmed due to the birthmark and such. And he definitely has the queen's bishoujo genes.
Ohh shit! Long-awaited tankobon finally came out, huh? I gotta order the new volume of Ookami as well.
Yeah, that was quite brutal. And then when you factor in that later, he's prostituted out...
I didn't realize the full gravity of the situation until I saw them actually snip his snickers...
There's as much proof as the other heir. Also there's a few reputable people that actually know about it. His resemblance is no laughing matter either. It'd be little work to verify it.
