Really? To me it really looked like a sort of cheesy forced drama, but then when raiquia told the reason why he just went with it and reacted like that in the end it made it look like a well made "brick and airplane joke" that made me laugh. even more now that you see raiquia and isley giving no shits about it.

Lol, you talk as if there was something to begin with. once you read it you can clearly see the only idea in this is the initial one that begun the story, everything else feels like something the author thinks on the spot, even the whole flashback event to a certain point. he's just going with the flow and drawing whatever comes to mind. That is exactly why I'm reading this, it's sort of refreshing if you don't take it too serious and just as something to waste free time reading and chilling out.

I stopped reading 10 chapters ago, the moment the antagonist with devilishly good looking eyebrows appeared. That moment the antagonist re-appeared, I knew the author completely ran out of ideas and shoe-horned a plot together to see if he can still keep on going.

I come here from time to time to see if I should pick up where I left, or not.

Nibelungen is a standard mythical-ish name, so it wouldn't be too strange to have an IGN and an item share the same name. And again, maybe they just saw the same thing. We clearly agree on the same thing, so I don't know why you keep bringing it up

Given your list of "romance," I can't say that you have explored much of the romance genre at all. I will say though, that Nisekoi is a mess. I stopped reading the second the author introduced the girl with the hugeass boobs that can somehow pass as a dude without a binder. Besides, everyone knows he's going to end up with the tsundere. It's always the tsundere...

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun (I guess... I can definitely see why people like the  "couples" so much, but I just can't bring myself to support them. Because of Oresama Teacher. Tsubaki Izumi is brilliant, but romance is definitely not her strong suit)

 

Anything by CLAMP (CLAMP is a hit or miss. Usually every other series they do is good and the others are meh. Cardcaptor Sakura is always a classic though)

 

 

Takahashi Rumiko stuff (Well, it's another hit or miss in the romance aspect. She's one of the most well known mangakas out there, and it appears you've already read her works, but meh, might as well add her)

 

Man... it's actually really hard to find GOOD intended-to-be-romance animanga out there nowadays. I have a list, but I'm willing to bet you probably wouldn't like 70% of it. More often then not, you'll find good romance as an auxiliary point, since they won't try to force it down anyone's throat

This stuff about MC beiing Gay. It was done once in American movie (Don't know title but it was happening on Cementary or in Crypt). Many people didn't belived/acknowledged it. Or simply missed it. You know that part in movie were MC and MH gets togeder and its hinted that they will have 5 chidren and house in countryside. Here it was 'Sorry but I have a boyfriend' (by MC) or something like that.

 

As for who the hell mary his crush daughter. Twilight. If you didn't read it don't read it. Shiny pokemons vampires aren't the worst of it.

Appetizer taking Nib apperance because she saw it somewere and thought it looks cool. That's also what I think about it. Or what's even more possible Game dev put Nib avatar as one of ready ones (many games has such awatars). Cosidering they created Nibelungen tear it's not imposible. Or she uploaded it from net. Someone make a fanart in 3d of Nib. After all she was a member of famous Hero guild.

 

I still think Raq looked like a male in this thank. Fact that we didn't saw anyting more > Author wanted to keep his age a secret as long as he could.

 

And it's not only appetizer that don't wear miniiskirts. Merrymerry also don't wear them.

Appeizer not having traditional atrractive body? Right after Raq gets his cash card (ch.5). It's not like she don't have traditional atractive body (slim figure big breasts) she (means Gaechaban) choose not to flash us with it. And that's simply amaizing. To think something like that would make me happy or respect author. What happend with this world? 

And next +100 for fact that MC use reall cash in game that allows it. I have enough of stories where MC is one of the best (if not the best) players without using P2W even once. IN KOREA! Talk about realitism.

 

And for Romance. Im quite pernicky about it, little more forgiving if romance isn't Alpha and Omega of the story. Little more forgiving but still quite demanding.

Only romances that I could stand (in whole) so far are:

Kekkaishi (for me that was one of the cutes most heart warming endings ever and one of few fainal battles that didn't look forced.);

Double Arts (It would get worse with time I know this);

Nisekoi (up to 70 ch. I read all translated ch. stopped for few months. Now can't read, resembless me of Double Arts, same author, and I get pissed on Industry. Then I remember all messed up animizations, Shaman king wtf?, and I have bad day I will get it once its finished);

Kubera (only reason why it is in Romance genre: Author says it is a Romance. Fans says it isn't. Who is right?) and Im shipping SahaxAsha.

And thats all.

I think we have a misunderstanding here. I have full faith that the author will not make them the generic couple. The problem? It might happen in the end. And any sort of development in a gag animangawebtoon like this has a very low chance of being any good. 

 

As for romance, I love romance- when it's done well. Usually if I want romance, I go for series that are already tagged as romance, so at least the author has put more thought than "it's the hero and the heroine, duh." Note: doesn't always work. This is why shoujo and josei get so much bad rep, despite being good genres

 

Also, not being oversexualized and not flashing boobs and panties is only the bare minimum. +1000 to Gaechaban for having a female character that doesn't have a traditionally attractive body type and isn't demonized. Again, huge priest lady is best waifu

 

Also, I would 100% support a bromance between Appetizer and Raiquia

 

1. I was joking. There are very rarely any queer characters that are taken seriously or not stereotyped in these types of animanga. While I'd love Rai to be bisexual, it really probably won't be the case because it's geared towards a male audience and I'm sorry to say this, but the no-homo (concerning males specifically) in those is stronger than ionic bonds. Is it possible to have queer characters in those? Yes. Does it happen often? No. If the character isn't stereotyped and is actually pretty important, will their sexuality and love interests be acknowledged? Well... Like, in Kamisama no Iutoori Ni, there is a guy who openly states his love for the male MC, and there are still people who say "oh, I love their bromance" and I'm like "dude, he was the heroine in the Valentines Day special. Though one sided, he clearly does not feel a 'bromance' for the MC."

I read both of those. One of those is the one I referenced, in fact. And if this ends the same way as 1/2 Prince, I'm going to scream, because that was the shittiest ending ever. Of all time. Who the hell dies because they thought they died? WHO THE HELL MARRIES THEIR FORMER CRUSH'S DAUGHTER??? The only ending that could end worse (romantically) is Legend of Sun Knight, by the same author, and I won't spoil the ending since it hasn't been translated yet and she didn't even hint at what happens, but if I read correctly, it's going to suck. 

 

2. Again, kidding about the old granny. But if she is really an old granny, I'm going to laugh my ass off

 

3. I assume you're referring to chapter 5. Rai's body is currently androgynous, so unless the shop owner called him by one of those gender specific words thats meanings are often lost in translation, it's still possible that Rai is playing as a different gender. It's already confirmed that it's possible to do so

 

4. Again. Just for fun. There are so many tropes of that. Like "siblings used to be close but then they had a falling out, so they don't want any association with each other" and if they're sisters, often ending in "male protagonist helps siblings get back together and now the main sister is falling for the guy, and maybe the other sister is too." In a more hopeful light, maybe she just idolized Nib and changed her customization to match, and something happened and now she doesn't idolize Nib, but is too cheap or too attached to the customization to change. 

 

And gain, my personal favorite is the 100% gag route, where they just saw the same anime and thought it was cool

 

And after rereading chapter 5, I got a new "theory." Appetizer seems to hold some trauma of being abandoned or forced to leave, because of her seriousness towards the game and her apparent lack of femininity because of it (that's fucking bullshit btw. Are girls only allowed to wear miniskirts and heels when slaughtering in order to be a woman?). Maybe she saw Nib as a powerful female player, but still feminine, and wanted to model herself after her. Culturally, gender roles are still very important in north east asian countries, so statements like "that's so unladylike" can really hurt. It's changing, but slowly

 

 

But the new chapter is coming out in a couple hours, I assume, so we'll see how it goes

Now I get it that you don't exept it to turn into full romance. But examples you give are 100% romance-ish and this proper spacing you talk about works only if story folow rulles of genres for what it was created. It's not your usuall Shouen it's a parody of it. So it will folow these rules and make fun of them, screw proper spacing.

 

To clarify my arguments (sorry but spelling errors will stay, not like im doing them on purpose):

It will not turn into next generic romace. Why? Just look how Gaechaban dealt with Hero part (back then I were considering droping this.). One of the most generic stuff. Main villain that hurt main hero in the past, stole his (soon to be/already in relationship) girlfriend, put her in a birdcage. Now some time later (usually less than 4 years but it doesn't really matter. As long as main hero is 16-17 in main story) main hero face villain in epic battle. Obviously he will have to deal with great amout of hated (unresonable abviously) and misunderstanding about him from other players before that, hide his identity and he will find some great friends that will stick with him no matter what and most of them will look like be teenage girls in miniskirts (RPG gets+1 for the fact that Appetizer wears pants). How it ended here? Raquia: I thought it would be funny to play bad guy misunderstood by the world and all that. Oh that was Isley? I didn't reconized him. Shame he we didn't get to talk I wonder how have he been. Second most generic (and diritating) stuff in Shouen was dealt with like that and nothing shows that Gaechaban (<author) won't do the same with romance (first most generic and iritaiting stuff). I'm not saying that there won't be romace at all. But, as you said, it won't be this *blush**blush* type wtf I lost all my skills sudenly and can only sit in one place cheering for my love interest and show boobs (next +1 for Appetizer not flashing with her boobs, and she has means to do so it if she would want to). 

There is no reason to suspect Gaechaban won't do the same with Romace part.

It won't hurt If romance part will be half baked. As long as author will acknowledge it and treat accordingly to what it is and not what he wanted it to be. I have no reasons to suspect he won't be able to do it 

You shouldn't hate romance in general. You should hate badly done and/or forced cuz plot development requies it romance.

It wouldn't be that strange to have 2 similiar looking ones. I for one have problem wih teeling Isley and Raquia apart. True Isleys eyebrows help but that's not much.

For me it looks like you are worried it will folow romance routine (that's what your egzamples are saying to me). But it won't.

Gaechaban did 95% of most mangas/weebtons routine alredy and if it was a normal romance it would most likely end in 2ch. (3 if there would be time skipp to theyr happy lovely home and childs)?

First it don't even have Romance tag.

Secondly Gaechaban alredy proved that he loves to make fun of "plot in general" Thats a parody.

2 She is. Previous (or previous previous) ch. 25-30 year old would be safe bet

4 THATS THE POINT OF THIS ARC!!!! Raquia he don't care. Is here only to play so he can get a girlfriend if one goes his way. Why not? Or he can not it doesn't really matter to him. That's a game no matter how OP he might be it won't impress her to much (he is a small child with max lv character. Thats never good material for boyfriend).

But from what I've gotten out of this, you think my worry for potential bad romance is unfounded, as there is no romance tag and it's a parody. but here's the thing. If there's no romance tag, I would be even more distressed, because more than likely, there will be romance that will be some half baked thing that only exists because there was a guy and a girl readily available, with no reason for an amorous relationship other than because they worked together for an extended period of time, and would be waved off as a "bromance" had they have been of the same sex. Parody or not, this is appears in any form of text, beyond animanga, but it is especially apparent in these RPG inspired series, even resulting in harems most of the time *cough SAO cough*

While it's more than likely that Appetizer will brush his question off with a swing of her sword to his head, this scene raises some romance flags that I want burned to the ground, because it will probably just be because they're the hero and the heroine of this story. If there is actual development in the romance aspect, I'll accept it. "Waah Rai save me I'm suddenly completely useless ooh you're so cool blush blush blush" doesn't count. Neither does "Grrr hot female suddenly appears and she's taking my man *gasp I didn't want to acknowledge this feeling in my chest* and now I'm jealous and gonna act all girly to win him back *gasp why am I doing this? Is it really...*" I'm hoping as a parody, if it does come to this, it'll make a complete mockery of this type of thing, but I've seen enough parodies to know that there is still a high chance of low quality romance thrown in
