I get that this series started over two years ago and it barely feels like we're any closer to Tomo and Jun getting together as a couple. But you have to keep that in perspective. For example, it took over 25 years for Jon and Liz to finally get together in Garfield.

Funny, I kinda grown bored and stop reading after they "were together" ... I know how it ended but to me the series was funnier when it wasnt about "the plot".
 
But that doesnt matter, that one had something else to work besides Tomo wanting Jun's Jun ... that is were it gone AFTER they got together (and you know that is not true, it ends with then being together and recognized as a couple), even B Gata H Kei that is also a 4Koma was about Yamada being so single-minded in sex as that is were the humor came, if Jun and Tomo start dating, THATS IT ... its over, it doesnt have room to go anywhere else because there isnt anything else, if this was about Tomo being a girl but people acting as if she was a boy because she fails at acting as a girl (and oh boy, if that was about that there is no way in hell I would be reading the comment section, not in 2016, 17 or 18) then we would not be talking about the INSISTENCE this MUST be about Tomo and Jun and that Hot handsome Co-Worker that started to make advances on Tomo, who will Tomo chose? Jun the childhood friend or the Co-worker-san that despite his near sexual assaults on Tomo he is a really a good guy, honestly ... is this were you want the series to go? a stupid love triangle?
 
I am sorry but ... look, the series is about Jun not recognizing Tomo as a girl despite he clearly DOES ... thats the joke, he cannot end that because THAT is all the series is, its not like Jitsu Wa that was about she being a Vampire and not like B Gata H Kei that was about Yamada thinking everything being about sex, the "dating" was part but there was other things that drive then, in this series there isnt.
 
Also I wish it stop being so damn focus in Tomo and Jun and go back at Tomo failure at acting as a girl, Jun was there JUST so Tomo wanted to be seen as a girl, that was the setup ... now its the plot, the whole plot.

Did they just... openly communicate? About how they perceive each other? It might have been in passing, but this is monumental, at this rate they might - and I'm just spitballing here - actually enjoy each other's company without it being a federal fucking issue.

Jitsu Wa took a lot longer and that (arguably) got even better once they were together. Horimiya remained good too, but that was monthly and i don't remember how long it took them to get together. 

Who the hell is this? This isn't Jun. No way. He would never realize OR think something of THAT magnitude.

He does, all the time, it's just that he resets his brain to keep the status quo. He isn't that dense, he's just a coward (or honor bound to his promise, but I feel that's just the way he justifies his cowardice)

Jun.exe has been upgraded to Jun-2.0.exe with new features such as common sense and award winners like basic recognition. Coming soon to Jun-3.0 ... wood.

Why would it end?
Jun can "reset" himself. Whenever we had progress he did it, and will do it again. Even if the status quo is broken now, he can rebuild it.
Or we could see them dating, that would be nice too. It doesnt have to end the moment they start dating.
As for me, i'd like to see a role reversal. Tomo accepts she'll remain in brozone forever and gives up on Jun, but Jun realizes he likes Tomo. Or something like that.
