Well presumably unless their bodies were transported into the game, then their bodies in real life would be in comas while they are stuck in the game.

Though in general a lot of Korean MMO stories do not actually involve comas, it appears to be a signature of Japanese MMO stories only.

Basically... a person was stuck in the game and the only way to get her out is to beat her? Maybe.

This person is so strong that the player admins won't try and fight her. 

The real trick is you can only reach her while you are in the newbie area, so you have a limited window of time from making a brand new character.

Also, since it's the newbie area you can't load yourself out with great gear, you can only have what you find in there, which is no good. The level cap also hurts.

Basically it's impossible, but she's going to win anyways because... something.

because there's no real other threat aside from Summer Wars' approach which was the same approach Digimon the Movie took ten years prior (The whole A.I initiating complete IRL havoc.)

In log horizon, characters are placed in a game right after an mega-update.  There has not been time to fully work out new game mechanics/skills.  The "players" cannot access the internet to share/obtain information either, so that is out.  More importantly, the game world is no longer subject to certain game mechanics.  As you see in the series, it becomes possible for characters to do actions outside of their class, where it was previously impossible (before only characters with 'chef' subclass could cook, but now other players can).  Also, it becomes possible to learn skills by 'willpower' rather than using upgrade scrolls(what the game previous required).

 

There were some players who knew information about the update beforehand, and were able to abuse this information, but it's not really plot-relevant, so it is left out of the LN a lot. Game companies in general only release small pieces of information about updates, and since Log horizon's update had just launched, they didn't have much information about it before they were sucked in.  It is unrealistic to think everything was discovered(and shared) in such a short time, since many players would jealously guard those secrets.

 

SAO is a bit different though, since information is more easily shared.  Log horizon you can only contact people on your friend list, and it is very difficult to get between cities as you have to physically travel(since portals are unpredictable without the online-schedule).  SAO might have some sort of forum(not sure about that), but even if it doesn't, travel is a very easy teleportation between cities, so spreading information becomes simple.

beat the girl up, then why not do that from the start? Seems like the body-hack was almost pointless now, since violence was the answer. It seems to me like the girl would be more likely to hold a grudge over the walking around naked thing than the fight, since one humiliated her in front of the whole school and the other was only in front of 3 people.

 

And why in hell did Kaori just go along with it?  She downright thought that "solving things with violence is what my step-mother would do" but chooses to emulate it? What?  It would have been better with a more cliche line like, "I want to become like Arisa" or "If I stop here, the bullying will never end," IMO.[/
