Fluffff. Oh, my life has become full circle~ I didn't want them to say see you next time ;; see me now...
Yeah. Every time he said he wasn't going to, I felt like she was about to say ". . . Not even a little?"
oboeotaku: We'll have to reread. It's the only solution.
I'm sure it'll take a week or so for it to truly sink in that there's nothing left now. Right now, I just feel numb.
Yes to both. A wholehearted, slightly tearful yes. You won't regret reading this; it's beautiful, an amazing ride from start to finish...even through to the omakes.
...I really can't stress enough how good this is. Please read it.
One Question. Worth Reading and its a good Ending? read the first chapters and love the story and the charakters, but i wont read it if the ending is crap
This can't be the end... I just love Mao so much. Please let there be a cameo for the author's next work.
Oh, dear, 50.3 was too much for my poor widdle heart.
Too much.
Too- HNNNGGGH
Oh, she wants to be eaten so much...
This manga made me do a instant follow since the first chapter that came out/translated. I absolutely loved the art, the way the author put the characters and plot across.
I loved the development, the cute expressions and frustration. This author never had a flaw along the way.
There was nothing to complain, only wishes for more, which don't count as complaints. We only wish for more because it seems that this manga, the feelings and satisfaction this manga gave us will remain with us. If the author brings something out again, it's a instant follow for an author who went beyond perfect.
She said she wanted the last message we saw was of Mao as 10 years old. Considering she has long hair and seems happier, rather than being actual Mao back in the past, I think it's a metaphorical Mao who has found her childhood happiness and dreams at last.
On the other hand, that last extra chapter... Everyone saying goodbye makes me feel all sorts of things that I don't know how to express. I don't want it to end but I'm so happy they were able to find happiness.
Why do you keep bringing back the feels... ;-;
Exactly, why don't you just get married already..
This manga has been an amazing ride, from the well developed characters and relationships, to its moving plot and its touching themes on "home". This has been one of the few series that I have enjoyed every scene and chapter. Many thanks to Maigo for scanlating this wonderful series.
Reading that last extra chapter makes me feel...
Aww, that's adorab- *weeps in loneliness*
Mao's mom must be miserable.
I find it funny that people are arguing about what the author meant when she literally spells out the ending for you. If there is anything to be read into, it's that the author probably used this ending to signify them finally moving on from all their troubles that began when Mao was 10 (I'm not entirely sure if they died when she was 10 but you get the idea.)
I personally believe that the "ten-year-old Mao" really is Mao.
Obviously, I cannot express my thoughts in words, and this is my own opinion.
Feel free to have an opinion that differs from my own.
There's a difference between reading between the lines and adding your own idiotic fantasies into everything you read. But, whatever makes you happy.
-I retract this post-
It's called reading between the lines, it's not that hard. But keep your limited reading comprehension, whatever makes you happy.
In the end I suppose you can believe whatever makes you happy inside, but the Japanese in the afterword is pretty clear about it being MAO and not her daughter. Yeah, the art is pretty misleading, I agree. (I also think it's stupid because of that) But no, you can't say that "ten-year-old Mao" = "Mao's daughter." That's just forced logic.
There's also a Dog Pen in the house with the little girl and I don't think either family had a Dog when Mao was young.
Pretty sure that's supposed to be their daughter.
