Description: | Miyakozawa Risa, known as Zawa-san, is a member of Nissen High School's prestigious baseball club, but she's a girl... She trains and practices hard knowing she'll never be allowed to play in a real game. A quirky manga, focused more on the characters around Zawa-san reacting to her rather than baseball heroics or high school romance. Nominated for the 3rd Manga Taisho Award (2010). |

Thanks for doing this Nojay!
Thanks as always Nojay! Sorry you hate that page. XD
Nojay, the only way I could love you more is if you went faster.
Really appreciate every update, nojay!
Thanks for the update, Nojay! c:
*beep* The bomb has been planted.
I'ts ZAWA.
...rudo.
Thaks for the scanlation nojay. I've always liked this series although the chapters are short.
Chapter 41 really punched me in the "feels."
The schoolgirl living in a house full of trash and cigarette butts, with no parent home and some money left for dinner was very sad for me. Lousy parents are an abomination to me. A child deserves better than to always feel that they are on the outside looking at others and envying their normal life.
Thank you so much nojay for the new chapter scanlations! I especially liked the interview one.
Well, that got strangely dark out of nowhere.
Chapter 40 really rang true for me in my experience with reporters. The misquotes are egregious to the point of being total lies.
i know it's slice of life but the fact that literally nothing happens is rather annoying (but I read/enjoy other slice of life series)... just not for me i guess
This chapter (38) was difficult to translate into English because it centred around the Japanese gender-specific words for I, me, myself etc. as well as Japanese school-age slang and dialect (think "Valley Girl" in US terms). The reference to the Takarazuka revue shows was hand-written in a small corner of a speech bubble which also didn't help.
I had to play fast and loose with this chapter and I mostly went for something that worked in English and made sense to non-Japanese folks rather than a more exact translation of the dialogue. I hope to do better in further chapters.
Thanks, Nojay. I always enjoy a new chapter about Zawa-San.
Awesome, so great to see a new chapter of this again!
Really happy to see an update, as I missed Zawa San a lot. To my way of thinking, she's one of the hottest girls in manga.
Needs a translator.
Cool chapter. Thanks, Nojay. Also thanks for doing Family Compo, too.
Glad to be reading this again. Thank you Nojay
Sweet.
Yes, is the short answer, but I did specify "middle-school-age" i.e. they were both about 12-13 but not going to the same school. Mitaka South was not a school team though, it was part of the Little Senior league.
When the sempais were hazing the first-years about their middle-school yearbooks you might remember Moriguchi said that Hanamura wasn't in the middle-school baseball team as he was playing Little Senior instead.
weren't Zawa from an all girls mid school and Gen from an all boys one?
It's a prequel to the next chapter, a flashback to three years ago when Zawa and Gen were in the same middle-school-age Little Senior team, Mitaka South.
I didn't get this last chapter... Someone?
