It is, in my opinion, a perfect chapter.

Maybe. I'm not so sure. Hopefully in the process of casting off, anyway. Seems like he has some demons to deal with before he can accept the happiness of a relationship.
While I deeply respect him and his approach, my plan is more along the lines of kicking, clawing and ranting. Not gonna go gently into that good night. Will rage, rage against the dying of the light.
But courageous dignity is a good way too.
They killed off a great character, and then finally gave us that bit of romance we've all been waiting for.
