Description: Billy Bat is a comic-in-a-comic and the real protagonist is a Japanese-American artist named Kevin Yamagata who draws Billy Bat for "Marble Comics".

Shortly after they transition to the artist in his studio with his assistant, two actual detectives, who look like Laurel and Hardy in Dick Tracy era suits and trench coats, knock on the door and appropriate Kevin's room for the purpose of conducting surveillance on a room in an adjacent building. One of the detectives, the skinny “Laurel”, sees Kevin's work and it turns out he's a Billy Bat fan. The other chubby "Hardy" detective picks up a page and says that the characters look familiar and accuses Kevin of translating an old "Jap" comic.

As Hardy remembers the comic he thinks Kevin is ripping off, we make another Urasawaesque time jump to 1949 Tokyo...

I'm lost, I don't know anymore whether Kurusu is the villain or even the good guy...

Me too! I just decided to wait until the manga is completed to read it all over.

I don't even know man

Oh boy the chapter got me!

...and when I thought that it was the final chapter of Billy Bat(this one)!

Pluto became less interesting when youknowwho died

Yeah, even with Monster.  I don't think the ending compares with what leads up to it.

"Next issue, the can't-miss series climax!"

WAT?

Urasawa now works with the 8 chapter formula... After chapter 109 it goes to a hiatus for 2 months

WAT?

"Next issue, a surprising development!"...well, that goes without saying, Urasawa.

What about pluto or monster? I think those are endings that are matched in quality by few mangaka

I hope there will be some satisfying explanation in the end after all those mysteries that add on top of each other.

I am really curious how Urasawa will explain the drawing on the moon. The only explanation that makes sense is some paralell universe shenanigans.

I'm a huge fan of this artist, and Urasawa's cliffhangers are the worst in the manga industry (which is a compliment). But, still, let's be frank, his endings are much more than just anticlimatic. They either fall flat or give up on solving half of the mysteries. Like with XXth century boys, for instance, I still wonder to this day if the series hasn't been axed by the publisher, taking Urasawa by surprise :(

The only criticism I have of him, although I completely agree that he is the best mangaka I've seen or read, or whathaveyou, is that I feel his endings are a little anit-climatic.  There are so many twists and turns that by the end the resolution, I don't know, dissapates the tension more than shocks the reader.  Maybe it's jsut me.

Ah Hitler is such a nice guy

Im not following the manga but.. Adolf and hitler? humm

Einstein* and Hitler. And you should read it. A bit strange in the beginning but as the story unfolds, you won't be able to stop >:D

Don't worry, HItler is still a bastard just like in real life.

Urasawa Naoki is a certified mangaka legend and perhaps the best bar none, FULL STOP! No one will ever be able to come close to his story telling. In most mangas, unexpected plot twists are asspulls, something people saw coming a mile away, or worse a retcon of some kind.

Naoki on the other hand doesn't do those things for his unexpected plot twists. They are carefully and methodically thought out without ruining the plot or causing the readers to get pissed off if its a retcon/asspull.

The raws for the new chapter are out, right?

Well of course Billy lives on the moon. Someone has to keep an eye on all of those rabbits.

2-3 months hiatus, hope the mangaka take care of themselves, we already lost  yamaguichi sensei  T.T

Wondering which role this kevin will play, it's still quite a few decades from 2010.

Kevin really IS in trouble if he's thinking about purchasing a Hall & Oats record...

EPIC page 1 IS EPIC!

The plot still continues to thicken. I need a chronological chart. :/

The nazis just had to know about billy, too, didn't they.
