I would like to point out it's not. Asexuality.
I just want to point out they're not human anymore
i would like to deny your statement about the point in living without sex, but the more i think about it, the more i agree with you.. Cant help it. its human nature.
What the HELL is the point of living forever if you can't ever do it?
But i want to learn this:
Will plot become the one mentioned in afterschool nightmare? ( I think they had a schoolplay named as "kurobara alice" and main girl played alice in it and it had 12 vampires I believe)
Btw, if you haven't read it yet, you should definitely.
This is not some frilly dark romance if that is what you are looking for, this is a dark romance that truly explores inner motivation and the twist of minds, even in the parts that irk me. Things are done with reason, and even the 'illogical' things happen in a way that makes sense, becuase face it, people are illogical. All of the boys have problems, non-cookie cutter-just plot device problems, and their own merits, this makes them realistic and all horrible choices for any deep relationship.
Alice...she is complicated as one would expected when thrusted into a tense situation, with high expectations on you to make a choose that effects not only you but a unknown number of people in the future for all time. She is not being asked to fall in love with any of them but just to choose who would make the best strongest offspring. She is kinda like the king on a chess board, few moves to make but pivotal winning with her capture.
Now my problems with the series is the fact it is so realistic. The indecision, backstabbing, changing of personalities, arguing, deceit, lying etc, is too real. i generally read to escape most of these things, wanting a sweeter dark romance that isn't so simple as 'he is perfect but happens to be a monster'. the series is good and well worth the read, but dont expect a simple ending.
(since everyone else was giving reviews on i i thought i might as well give it a shot too, as a good middle of the road.)
thank you so much for those responses to ANG3L, thank you so much
my first thought after reading ANG3L's comment was just: sorry Twilight fan, that it isn't to your liking that Dimitri and the others don't sparkle in sunlight!
But I really appreciate that they don't, really!!!
and wow at the wall of texts below me didn't even read the whole thing but let me just say this: I think the vampires in Kuro Bara Alice is a unique portrayal of the vampires with fangs and suck blood. And I'm enjoying it so far.
It's true the definition of a vampire is... definitely original in this manga, but degrading? It's far better than sparkling vampires *shivers*. None of the characters are perfect; all of them are twisted and dark in their own ways. However that is what makes a fun, thrilling read; the exploration of their minds and their character developments. No one wants to read about a normal girl confessing to a the "perfect" guy and them being a couple - the story will be told max in one chapter. That being said, the goal of the vampires is not to become the girl's boyfriend but continue the vampire lineage. Thus romance is not that much of a big factor - the character interactions with each other and the way they seem to comfort each other is (no matter how broken they seem *sigh* the latest chapter were quite a shock, every guy in this manga would make a horrible boyfriend). It seems as if you wanted to read a romantic, sweet manga but this is really not a one but it doesn't mean it a bad.
To sum it up, if you want to read a dark, fun read this is for you! If you want your average shoujo where the heroines are too busy blushing, being embarrassed, learning how to cook/make bento for their oh-so-beloved Mr. Perfect please skip it.
Kuro Bara Alice is one of the best mangas I've read.
The story and characters are meticulously thought out, and nothing the characters do are carelessly thrown in without deference to the plot, which builds ever so carefully, to a degree of high brilliance.
And as to the matter of your anger on their "looseness," the point is that their sentiments and reason for being are infinitely more integral.
This story is great precisely because every character is not perfect. This story is great because their faults are deeply delved into, and their relations complexly intertwined, revealed.
Your opinion is just insulting. I question how far you have read to gain such an opinion, as it appears all the elements that make this work stunning is lost on your rather narrow-minded, obstinate stance.
To those that are wavering on deciding on reading this, I would tell you to not hesitate. This story is simply amazing.
I understand the male lead feeling toward his love but i hate how he always keep distance between him and the girl he love. It not like she doesn't love him i mean u can clearly tell she love him.Seriously this is wat make him always end up losing the girl he love.I mean if u really love the person then go for it better than don't even try then regret it later. He don't grab chances,he express no care when she with another guys or other guys onto her or even if another guy have sex with her.
When i heard he say i love u i thought he finally show his feeling but he always at the same pace (Always back at the start line right whenever u thought they finally speed up a pace ). He basically a failure as a men even tho he is popular with womens. He support other guy to sleep with his girl. The most worst thing he does is to tell a women who he clearly know love him to go sleep with another guy to breed with him. Also the main girl i think she rlly dk know love.To me it clearly she love dimitri but she always end up kissing, sleeping and stuff with other guys.It make me think she is so easy. But i can tell she only go after guys who she can trust and feel secure the most even tho she don't love him as a lover but she don't understand it herself she thinks she love him but clearly the one she love is dimitri who always so cold to her.Well i don't hate her for it cuz clearly fault lie in dimitri. If only he more straight forward to his feelings he and her would be a couple already.
