If Ronron falls for Blond boy it won't be healthy for Taro. He will fall further into despair. I'm all for Taro overcoming his insecurities, but not if the driving force is his crush, who seems to have been spending all her free time in his company, falling in love with another dude instead of him.

I guess there just aren't that many mangaka who can write a really good romance story without falling back on the overly-used Love Triangle plot device to create unneeded drama.

We know from ch.6 that he has a brother with which he is not on the best of terms, one that has also had multiple girlfriends. It wasn't too exaggerated of a thought, even more if you know how much pointless drama there is in romance manga, a lot of it coming from love triangles. It's not even rare to have bad triangles that reduce the overall enjoyment of the story(and keep in mind that this is subjective, what you like, i may not). So yeah, chill down?

I somewhat agree and disagree. Love triangles can either ruin a good story completely, or use it as a chance for character development. That is if they are handled properly

...

Personally, don't think this is going to turn into an actual love triangle. Certainly hasn't yet (except in Taro's mind).

For one thing, three people does not a love triangle make. All of them have to be either in love with or loved by one of the other members. So far, all we know is that Taro is interested in Ronron. There's absolutely zero indication that she likes Kuro, or that he likes her, and I believe that both are unlikely to in a story like this.

Judging by the set up so far, Kuro will probably vacillate between messing with his brother and helping him out, while Taro agonizes over the possibility of his not-quite girlfriend getting "stolen" from him by his own brother.

And you assumed that based on the fact that we had another male character? Not only that you assumed that love triangles makes the story less enjoyable or worse. How could this happen?

It was a single portrait of another male character, how pathetic can Batoto users be to jump into the gun at the moment we have another character other than those present from the start.

Please do not try to fill my thought bubbles with what you assume I thought or meant. You should not jump to conclusions base on your own bias.

I speculated that the author was going to rely on the dreaded Love Triangle cliché to create unneeded drama because of Taro's reaction to Ronron going into the convenience store where she would meet... And, as it turns out, I was spot-on about the pending dreaded Love Triangle cliché, as witnessed by the turn of events in chapter 9.

As for whether or not the dreaded Love Triangle clichés make a story less enjoyable or worse makes no difference to me. I just don't like them. Do I not have the right to have my own opinions?

I do so hope I will be proven wrong, as the story is so very cute without it, but as of chapter 8 it looks like it's headed toward the dreaded Love Triangle territory. Why, oh why must authors go this route?

I bet its his younger brother that he's been avoiding, and he's just gonna start fucking with the both of them. I hope at least.

I applaud this motion and will be forced to resign my follow in the event that this instead turns into a love triangle

I think it's a healthy direction, although we've yet to know where it will end. It makes us feel tension, it forces the character to grow (or not, but that's another issue), and if resolved nicely, it makes us euphoric. As long as it isn't too dragged along, or frequent, or feels shoehorned (looking at you Kouji Seo).

I'm personally rooting for the main character to become more secure.

Based on the cover art it is.

Wait.. how old was he again mmm...~?

Can't remember the exact age but I'm pretty sure he was mentioned to be still in high school.

It's not a big deal, but パフェ is not the the same as パフエ. The small vowel characters in katakana are used in combination to represent sounds in foreign words that don't exist in the standard Japanese syllabary. Since there is no "fe" sound in the Gojuuon, フェ (fu+e) is used. You can see this in other loanwords, like パーティ "pa a te+i" for "party", since there's no "ti" sound in the Gojuuon. It's read as a combination, and pronounced as a single syllable. For "cafe", it's written "ka fu+e" and read "kafe". People don't say "pafue" they say "pafe".

In that scene, the joke is probably that Ronron, not having a firm grasp of katakana, reads the word as "pafue" instead of "pafe".

The joke was definitely about reading the fu and e separately which really can't be translated. All those 4 hours in basic japanese courses really paid off here for me.

Well, it says 'pafue' on the menu though.
