Gosu plays in the same world, yes. Goo Hwi already appeared in the Gosu webtoon. Also Gosu has been licenses and is being published by LINE Webtoon now. Though the Scanlation Group is still releasing the Scripts for Gosu.

But he was taking extreme punishment ever since he was fighting the monk and Sanggwan Chaek still manifested himself to talk with the divine lord of destruction. So in that case he must have ''died'' recently...But yes you're right it could be just a temporary blessing that wreaks havoc on the body.

 

I know how the raws go as well, so I'm aware at one point the sword continues to move the body, just after Yongbi has taken Sanggwans head off.

 

But up until this point, I'm not sure whether or not I feel the story has been 100% clear on whether or not Sanggwan is actually dead or just merged with the sword. Not that there's that much of a difference when you get down to it, since he's almost completely mindless.

 

I guess after reading Ruler of the land, which is an inferior martial arts story in every way, I'm not so fond of these type of game breaking items. And they are all over the place in that manhua, making the power creep absolutely insane.

 

So it's possible I'm just projecting that disdain onto this fight.

Sanggwan Chaek is a bit of a boring jealous asshole as well..^^

I believe it's more along the lines of a sword possessing the soul of a man which once took an entire murim alliance to bring down (see chapter 109). And that soul will completely take over its wielder, basically using their body as a vessel for its ki. And Sanggwan Chaek is clearly dead by now. He hasn't regenerated his injuries at all either, despite what Yongbi's saying in this last chapter. But he's still getting up, so clearly it's gotta be the sword moving the body.

I don't think that sword really fits into the world that well imo. It's basically a magical artifact that gives the wielder and inexhaustible supply of ki and regenerative properties, with seemingly no limits. The journey towards the golden castle was more fun than the climax^^

Yeah, it would be cool if that happened in Gosu.

Now, in relation to Yongbi and Yemong, they are very powerful and strong to be hurt to that extent. Remember: Yongbi fought against Goo Hwi, then against his former captain and now with the traitor 2nd disciple. He betrayed Yongbi, his faction, his old master to even the demonists! And he betrayed himself too!

I did not even take a look on the link our friend passed down, but Yongbi and Yemong’s differential is that they attack long range using non-contact weapons with an opponent rather than bare hands. Depending on the type of opponent, attacking with bare hands would not be advisable.

 I'm spoiler tagging this because I'm mentioning details from Gosu and Yongbi 2.

Hopefully the battle against the last of those demonists is covered in a flashback arc in Gosu at some point. We already saw some of that with the Shadow Eminence, but I want more=P
 
It might be better dramatically if Yongbi or Yemong was mortally wounded during the final battle though.To give some heavy weight to the ones left behind, like Goo Hwi.

I regret having to disappoint you, but will only have one more main and final foe for Yongbi. The second disciple who betrayed everything and everyone: his old Master and the faction, Yongbi and the demonists.

 

Dear Nic. I do not know if you still remember, I had downloaded files that a MangaFox user had posted on the volumes of the sequel. Unfortunately, some Admin or Moderator may have deleted the post.

 

I believe I have about 10 full Volumes and the 11th Volume incomplete.

 

And I believe that about 30% of the volumes of the sequel have high-quality color pages. The rest are low quality scans.

 

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Were we to pick up the sequel, it wouldn't be an issue for me to buy the raws and scan them myself.
