This story is so good! i really like the art, too!

With this story style, i think there is no-real-hidden-killer, just a mysterious kill or he is killer himself, thats why this manga is not good enough. vote 5/10

I figured this might be the case too. It'd be a way to get a happy ending despite whole urban legend about the someone having to die when they see their own doppleganger.

I think that its gonna be something close to this. I think that there is some guy out there, possibly who's chosen Kenzaki for some reason and does try to commit the murders. I think older, doomed Kenzaki will unintentionally cause the murders, and thus implicate his younger self. He'll end up bringing the masks to the house unintentionally, and older Kenzaki's hairs will be the hairs that implicate him in the murder, thus creating a stable time loop.

Still, that makes me wonder about the first cycle, when older Kenzaki lived these events for the first time, with no doppleganger present.

While re-reading chapter 2, I was stuck by what the detective made Kenzaki say (there: http://vatoto.com/read/_/311180/yokohamasen-doppelganger_v01_ch02v3_by_lupajenge/24):

That nobody can enter in his workshop, since he's the only one who knows where the spare key is. But we've seen old Kenzaki use this exact same loophole to get inside a few pages back.

So then what if

the murderer is, not POV Kenzaki himself, since chapter 3 opts this out, but another, older, Kenzaki? He would know all there is to know about the spare key and young kenzaki's habits and schedule. Moreover, the murderer is a sculptor too (and he's not confident in his strength, remember?), and enough prison and injustice can probably turn anyone batshit crazy. It would even satisfy his love of trust in a way: the murderer would be "Kenzaki Makoto", just not the right one. I have no idea why he would want to imprison and kill his younger self (the other crimes, afawk, seem not to leave any traces, and since he left the masks in Kenzaki's workshop to incriminate him, he probably couldn't get them back), but, well, stuff happens that makes people change their minds. I've got no clue either how this would work, but it happened once already, what's to keep it from having happened before?

It's very unlikely, but it's fun to speculate.

I actually saw the tag, and that's why i didn't spoiler tag the whole gender bending thing...

But taking any job for money doesn't quite equal crossdressing. And he's not gay, either, since the guy who hired him made the whole 'everyone knows you don't swing that way' comment.

But for what i'm thinking, whoever committed this crime to pin it on him, the only way they would have ever been able to meet him is through that job. He only ever sculpts alone in his room, or goes out to work. He doesn't get famous until after the first murder occurs, in only a few days. So whoever did the crime could only know him from that crossdressing job. I think maybe, someone who either falls in love with him and wants to frame him when they find out he's really a guy, or perhaps one of his clients.

i've seen plenty of series get the tag because a very minor character in the background does so sometimes. I think the tag gets there once it happens more than once

He didn't leave it out. He mentioned that in order to gain money he took on any job he could. Cross dressing for a bar or whatever is one of those jobs. I don't know if it'll have importance in future, seeing as there's a tag for gender bender... I don't knw if someone just added that after seeing chapter one or if its actually an important part of the story (I.e. using it to get close to potential suspects)
