oh my god that's some good quality raw, should've asked around before translating! Please PM me if you have any other good sites.
As I wrote in the credits, I plan on kickstarting dead projects and get some scanlator's attention, and i'll need the raws to make sure the japanese terms don't get too lost in translation.
I'm specifically interested in the raws for  "himawari sequel by daisuke hiyama" and  "sayabito sword of destiny". It'd be great if someone picks it up right away too...i'm just saying...

Thank you for your translation of WE.

His character didn't backtrack at all! Yes he lied to protect Neene(sort of) in a similar way he lied to save rena. But the difference is he only thought about how to cover for his own interest, how to fool the organisation. The final lie was to cover for his allies, hence the last words in the final chapter makes sense.

Still makes his entire speech about how he won't lie and will rely on his pals from now on mid-series kind of stupid...

thank you Mr. scuttlebutt. did you know that i love you?

I rather disliked the last chapter, it was a weird focus on forced drama over Reina which could have been entirely avoided and instead focused on actually wrapping up the story, like how will things return to normal, how was society affected, what will happen to FLAG, etc. More of a focus on the characters and finishing their character arcs.

Instead we get a slap in the face to anyone who wanted Reina's arc to finish, our heroic MC backtracks in character development and Takao is the only one who seems to have gone forward in any format. Because lets face it, all the other characters got shafted.

Why do I say Riku backtracked? Because this entire final 'situation' was done before when he was going around lying about Nene earlier in the series. Granted it wasnt as bad of a situation when he lied there, the general premise still exists. He couldn't trust other people so he lied about it. But Riku had grown up since then, and had learned to put his trust in his allies. That was what I thought the ENTIRE second half of this story was about for Riku. But instead he reverts to his previous self and thinks he can't trust anyone again. Bravo.

Best Christmas ever, thanks

Saw this in passing, after 5 years, its done~ Now that reminds me, gotta check on black god, remember staring these series side by side in my college days.

Yen Press actually finished releasing that manga a while ago if you live in North America and can buy the actual print volumes.

Well, actually the implicit reason why he did it this way was so the rest of the cast didn't have to be his and Neene's accomplices.

To get Reina back they had to put a lot of people who were back to living regular lives through terror and suffering, even if every measure was taken so it would only be as temporary as possible, relying on his allies and friends for that. He was trusting them with that, but he still didn't want them to share the blame of doing what he did. He made himself out as a villain and did the questionable part on his own because he knew that everyone would go along with his selfishness (which was probably not only his, mind) despite the cost to the world, and he wanted to spare them from it, knowing it would hurt anyways when everything was finished. Because he planned to make it all clear in the end and take whatever punishment was proper. Hence why the chapter focuses again on Amane's words. Riku made a bittersweet decision to do things this way in the end partially as a way of atonement the same way Takao was atoning for the island and Julie and Amane was atoning for her lies in the grand scale of things. His methods don't show a lack of trust or a regression of his character, but an overly punitive sense of self-blame and caring for others. Which I'm fine with. Riku isn't perfect, and he's gone through enough that I can believe he would still doubt himself, even if that decision wasn't written in the most elegant of ways.

It's an interesting though clumsy final note on the manga's themes of the cost lies have and the pain the truth can bring. But Riku's trust issues are a boat that's sailed a long while ago.

Finally the happy end I waited years for. Worth the wait. Time to reread the entire series.

Happy end at last.

Thanks you for giving us the last two chapters after so long.

The only thing I wish is that Dark Horse had actually published this when they licensed it.

I so wanted physical copies of this manga.

Fuck Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh!

Thank you very much for bringing us this end, allowing us to finally draw it's conclusion in our hearts.

Who would have thought I would see the day that this finally got finished translating This was one heck of a ride. A long one but me bones finally let us off (for now anyway) This all feels so surreal to me really

Ending kitaaaaa!!!! I love this manga for years, and I'm super happy its finished. Thank you for scanslating this whoever you are!

Why the hell were the last 2 pages in an Extra's chapter?.

It been mentioned before but there were added to the volume release to clear up any ambiguity about the ending.

Finally. The end. After all this time.

Time to reread everything now. By going to another website for the missing chapters. >_<

Why the hell were the last 2 pages in an Extra's chapter?.

Thanks, Scuttlebutt. Missing pages are here http://bzland.net/?topic=46439.0in case you or anyone else wants to add them or just look at them for closure. Also, thanks again.

Gaaaaaaah, why does it end there? Even the two page extra doesn't help that much

Maybe it's because I've recently watched "Your Name" movie, but sometimes I feel like Japanese works end straight up at the final point, with no denouement or epilogues or anything. Of course, not everything needs an epilogue, but I just want to see what the protagonist's new normal is once the greatest obstacle (in this case Arisu's 'death') had been resolved.  I don't need a "they all have kids" ending, just a "they now live in a farm, on the peaceful countryside" type of ending so I know they're okay.

This reminds me so much of the very, very few modern literary novels I've read, of how they end so abruptly.

Spoiler

I added them to save people the trouble.. It's listed as 97.5 Extra Ending Pages

It is waiting for approval I think, I've never uploaded before so I don't know how this works
