World on brink of Nuclear Apocalypse as tension between Superpowers at their highest since Cuban Missile Crisis.

Relations between East and West already increasingly fragile over last few weeks, due to unexplained observations in stratosphere over the Western Pacific Region, which reached its peak yesterday, culminating in the destruction of several weather, communications, scientific research and military satellites. The resulting debris is also proving a serious hazard to all other satellites in orbit, as experts believe further collisions from the rapidly spreading debris clouds is "all but guaranteed".

NASA, the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos), the China National Space Administration (CNSA), the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have all denied that these incidents are due to extraterrestrial visitors, or "Aliens". The astronauts aboard the Internation Space Station are also in the process of being evacuated. Speculation as to the cause have come from all corners, from "accidental collision by disused/abandoned satellite(s) or 'space junk'", to "a prelude to an alien invasion". Some security analysts have also suggested that it may be the first wave of cyber-attacks targeting orbital infrastructure, although they are remaining cautious about whether or not this may be the case, as they have stated there has yet to be any irrefutable evidence supporting this, nor are they speculating on whether this was perpetrated by a Nation State, terrorism, a criminal organisation out for profit or even an individual.

As of yet, there have been no credible claims of responsibility, nor is there a consensus on the cause, although this has not stopped accusations of deliberate acts of aggression by various nations at one another. All the uncertainty surrounding these incidents has meant an unprecedented mobilisation of military forces around the world, with many countries now actively deploying soldiers and military vehicles within cities and other urban centres.

We need a serialization for this!
