Um, I just began reading this but the premise seems to be rather flawed. If there cannot be a single combustible reaction in the world does that not imply that everything just immediately dies? Even if they somehow survive not being able to live, which seems highly implausible, then why are there literal stacks of cars between the houses in the first chapter? Did people seriously take time building walls as high as buildings out of cars?

a post apocalyptic world where we lost the ability of fire????...wait, as per wikipedia, Fire is the rapid oxidation of a material in the exothermic chemical process of combustion. in laymans terms, fast and continous oxygen plus sustained heat can cause fire. you will only lose the ability of fire if you lost any of the two. well, people are still alive so obviously oxygen is not an issue so the problem now is source of heat. hmmm? how can you make heat? (rubs palms while thinking....)...

No, I get it, I've only seen the same lawless post-apocalypse setting so many times because it really is easy to imagine it play out that way. So if the nukes go off or a plague hits, fuck it, go for it. But when mankind has lost something as fundamental as fire, I wanna see some more interesting consequences than sword and crossbow violence. I'd love to read a post-post-apocalypse version of this where mankind has had more time to adapt to the change technologically and socially.
