Shouko's life is a mess. Her boyfriend's a cheater, a steady job is a phrase that isn't in her vocabulary, and at home, things aren't any better with her mom being so focused on her older brother that she might as well be nonexistant. However, her life takes a sudden turn when she bumps into an old friend from middle school. Her friend, Maki is now a popular mangaka, and when she's asked to help her out part-time as an assistant, she readily agrees. It is there at Maki's house, that she meets Hajime, a budding mangaka/assistant who also happens to be Maki's boyfriend. There's something about him that inextricably draws her to him... |

I agree with purple library guy. Most of these people are cruel and thoughtless for no reason. Not that we don't all have our moments, but most people aren't this incapable and thoughtless and selfish. I want to say a good 80% of people can basically show up to work regularly, do their job, and not develop a weirdly intense crush on their boss' boyfriend. And I want to say a good 60% of mothers would be able to go to the host bar or at least go find their son, even if they were going to be angry while doing it, or yell. most of us are not this level of dysfunction, but it's an interesting story. Certainly, there are probably people who live with each other like this. I think dysfunctional people do tend to find each other.
I fell in love with this manga ...
as it was the work of the same author from principal i was damn excited while reading it...
truly speaking i was loving it too....but what the hell was with that unsatisfied ending...
It was a real let down....the manga throughout from the beginning was great but it ended before you knew it.. more like it ended like there is gonna be a next chapter... when i checked and found that it is really completed it hit me hard....
Hehehe, actually forgot to read this last chapter until now even though it's our group that scanlated it. XD Well Purple is right, the series may not have ended with a bang but it ended with a statement and I liked how it ended.
Interesting ending. Not with a bang, but with a "This is slice-of-life, yo!"
I could use with some refinement, maybe, but it's interesting no doubt.
They have real world problems though and have no idea how to fix them and there also isn't any type of mentor to tell them how to. Just how it is for you and me too.
If you don't like that kind of thing, avoid it. But the characterization's pretty good and it has a realistic feeling and it doesn't go over the top into melodrama. I like it quite a lot when I'm in the mood.
