Seeing the name "tooyama ema" is enough qualification to make  this the first josei manga I'm following.

Tastes do differ, don't they?  Seeing the name "Tooyama Ema" is enough to make this one of the first josei manga I'm leaving without even a look.

Hopefully the very first panel has that glasses member of the council eaves dropping and then entering stage with a right hook and proceeding to smash the data card on his phone.

 

The romance tag on this manga is worrying if the MC develops feelings for the one mentally abusing her for his own amusement.

Crap I enjoyed this way more than I should have. This MC is so damn eccentric. I like it! Though I reallllllllly wonder if he will follow through with his threat at the end of Ch3. It'll probably be some misunderstanding or something innocent. Tooyama Ema MCs have a history of talking a big game, but failing when it comes to action. I'm looking at you Hisame!

Aria is a magazine aimed at 20-year-old females. That demographic is sometimes labelled as shoujo, sometimes as josei. Shueisha's Cookie is a great example of this.

Personally I'd categorize Aria as a shoujo magazine, because I find it hard to say that series like No. 6 and Iiki no ki are "josei". Especially in the case of this series, where the main character is in high school.

But, on another note:long rant ahead.

that ending of the chapter was....pretty ridiculous. i'v read this authors other works a few months back(i new this style looked familiar, and then new that i probably would not like this too much), and just could not keep reading....i just couldn't do it. the art is nice and cute...but now every time i see the style, i instantly know that their will be some ridiculous misunderstandings, and...haha this one was too ridiculous of a misunderstanding. and i just cant take it.(unless i read in small intervals at a time..over a month)

I know that this is shoujo(wait...nope it says josei...wat.) and stuff like 'this' is gonna happen, but i haven't read too much shoujo in a long while where it got to this degree. i felt more like i was reading a shounen when i read this.

I'v read a lot of really good shoujo, and because of that  now...when something ridiculous happens when i try to look for new shoujo, i get way more annoyed for the girl, than i do getting sad for her nowadays...

drama is gonna happen nonetheless. but sometimes authors just like to take the easy way out when dealing with absurd situations.

reading too many bad shoujo's for so long(that i (used to)love) and then reading very good ones, has made me a very, very picky reader, same with shounen. its getting harder to find any good ones now a days.

That said, after reading the first chapter I find nothing similar to the description other than the names.
