Lul. Anyways, I'm sure I'm not the only one who can relate to Pavlov's Wakako.

Avila.  Gorgeous walled town.  Carcassonne in France is way more famous, but Avila is way, way cooler; the walls are twice as long and way taller and stronger and people actually live there, where the "town" inside Carcassonne is just this wasteland of tourist shops (in nice old buildings, but still).

Also tried one of the famous delicacies of the town; nuns make 'em.  They're like these egg yolks infused with a bunch of sugar while still intact . . . they taste just like that sounds, which is to say pretty terrible.

Every time I hear Carcassone, I get reminded of this book by Kate Mosse (not Moss) called Labyrinth.

Also I just Googled what you mentioned. Yemas de Santa Teresa... They don't sound appetizing. I think I'll stick to the egg tarts I get once in a while in an Asian bakery close to my office. Eggs can be good when sweet, but egg yolks have a really strong flavor. I prefer egg whites in that aspect; after all, a pretty traditional dessert in my country is made with baked meringue, whipped cream, strawberries and soursop. It's like a pavlova, but it's not a pavlova per se.

Also, the fact that you went to Spain, as they say over there, mola mazo :D (picked that up from a Spanish friend of mine - I'm well, South American!)

That girl would be a pleasure to have in your restaurant, eh?  Just watching her appreciate the food you made would make it all worthwhile.

so when does she try mcdonalds?

Oh, callos! The smell is kind of off-putting, but the flavor is fantastic. Was that in Madrid?

Liver pate is extraordinary? I used to eat it all the time on bread for lunch.

Hmmmm, this could be a situation where because pâté is French/Belgian in origin, the Japanese assign it a greater amount of culinary prestige than it has in the West.

This comic makes me want to eat far more than I should. I wish we had the same culture around cheap/street food as japan where I am, I would love to be able to buy a perfect portion of good food while wandering. Pushuuuuu

Thinking of the offal stew . . . A year or so ago I was vacationing in Spain, and we were grabbing something to eat in this bar.  They kind of have the stuff to eat sitting there and so I was at the bar going "Some of this, some of that" and carried a few little plates of stuff back to the table my wife was sitting at.  So I'm eating, and it's all pretty good, and I don't know what some of it is, and then I'm thinking wait a minute, this tasty stuff here is kind of . . . chewy, and . . . hang on, I'm eating tripe, aren't I?  Oh well, it's good.  Think I'll get some more.

Aaaah I can't wait for season 3 ;_;

Although this chapter's a bit of an exception.  Can't imagine flying to Japan to score some fries.

I agree. If it's fries and beer, you gotta go to the source: Belgium! (That's what my viola teacher would say. This bug doesn't drink!)

Every time I read a chapter I want to go back to Japan and eat something from this manga...

Somehow this always updates when I'm highly depressed and about to do something stupid and it really helps me calm down, thank you.

That eggplant seems huge, I rarely eat eggplant but if it's prepared well it sure is tasty mmm...

Wait... she has a boyfriend?!

And why do I have the feeling she wants to devour the bride's soul in 26.2?

Must be those eyes...

He's been referenced several times before. We even see him in chapter one when he's eating salmon skin that she prepared at home in a flashback. In chapter 4 he texts her to see if she wants to go out on a date which she says no because she ate the smelliest garlic gyoza and would be embarrassed to be with him/kiss him.

Ha the wedding was great... she's just necking the food and booze and happy because she can drink alone again the next day.  That's how it actually is!

i believe lots of us can relate with her, as i am :P

those are pretty lavish reception meals though. maybe i just didnt know anyone with enough dough to pay for that kind of celebratory reception.
