To be honest I really, really missed this kind of art and story style. Maybe this is what 'previous generation thought about current era' feels. I know not all classic shoujo is good, but this kind of style is rarer nowadays. Most my favorite shojo mangaka either retired, 'level up' to josei/smut, or change direction to shounen-ai/yaoi. The fantasy genre also... everywhere full of harem

 

or maybe it's just me.

The ending felt a bit rushed, but overall this was a good read. The art is good, the protagonist is has depth to her, and the villain is ultimately fleshed out well.
The one shot was sad.
