They do this so they can keep track of what manga they have read and liked. Well, that's why I still follow completed manga anyways.

Also sometimes oneshots are followed before they are uploaded and I don't see any reason to unfollow something after completion

You know what I don't understand? Series that are listed as complete but still get followers. I see some people following one shot stories. Keep on waiting for those update notifications, guys.

Except, I use follows for keeping track of what I've read, rather than for being notified.
Also, decent read, but the anime's much better IMO.

@Pax Empyrean: You do realize that some one shots get turned into a regular series, right? One good example is Zonbicchi wa Bicchi ni Fukumaremasu ka?

There's a lot of difference between the Anime and the Manga. If you ask me, I'll say, the Anime and Manga are Alternate Universe. For example, Cutey Tenhou doesn't exist in the Anime. Although, if I remember correctly, the Anime came first before the Manga which is kind of rare to happen. Not sure if Vandread is a Novel Adaption like Haruhi, Bakemonogatari, etc. etc. though.
