2015? wow, now new chapters until now?

It was on a long hiatus because the magazine it was  serialized on closed down. Later it got a chapter released on the same magazine as the regular series, then nothing to date.

The nano chapters where released along with the regular series in the tankoubon so I guess they'll just weave those side stories into the main one.

i think its beacuse in the army when you get your first weapon the instruccion officer always say "your rifle is like your girlfriend" - "Treat Your Rifle Like a Lady" - etc. . .

This is actually a notable difference between the Western army and Russian (Belarus and Malorossia - Ukraine, were/are Russias as well) view on weaponry. In English, ship is a she. In Russian, корабль (korabl') is male and has male names like Победоносец (Victory Bringer), Его Высокоблагородие князь Потёмкин-Таврический (Duke Potemkin-Tavricheskiy), Крузенштерн (Cruisensterne, the last name of the leader of one of the first expeditions around the globe).

The same is with the rifles. Rifle is a she in English. Semi-automatic rifle, винтовка, is also a she in Russian. But the situation changes when you go full auto, as автомат (automat) is a male noun.

And Kalash (also male noun) is not a lady to Russians. He's a battle comrade, the best of friends who will never betray you even while covered in dirt together with you to the extent you don't feel the air with your skin. Kalash never betrays you even if you can't keep his daily maintenance because of lack of supplies and is ready to save your life in temperatures below -30 Celsius.

So yeah, there's quite a large difference between perception of the gun by NATO (who have the biggest influence of Japan right now) and Russia, where both the ships and guns are not just male, but really fucking manly.

I wonder if Battle Rifle = High School, Assault Rifle = Middle School, Sub Machine Gun = Elementary School then which class is Sniping Rifle, Light, Medium, Heavy Machine Gun, Shotgun and Handgun ?

Dragunove in Highschool, so sniper in same school of battlerifle. And in a side story, RPK is in highschool uniform.

I believe according to the main series, the schools are categorized by caliber size. =/

Arisato is right about the School levels but I believe only that school is limited by caliber, it seems some of the others depend on nationality such as the Red Steel School (russian weapons)

If you have ever handled a Kalashnikov pattern rifle you would be hard pressed to find anything feminine about them. Even the way they operate is masculine, with their big, long operating rod thrusting back and forth in the gas tube, and their powerful, heavy bolt forcing the cartridges into the chamber with absolute authority.

Hmmm... although thinking about it another way, firearms are sort of feminine in the way that they 'receive' ammunition, and 'give birth' to the bullets. SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT.

And check this
The Will Eisner M-16 U.S. Army Rifle Maintenance Booklet (1968)

Maybe it's taboo but...why are there no male guns? Usually when you think of weapons you think manliness (tank, swords, guns, etc...), but here they're all cute like... I guess it's the beautiful design and craftsmanship behind weapons that gives them the aura of femininity. Best I can explain it.

@ShadowMonkey71

You obviously missed chapt 20, page 20 as well as Garand Sensei and Springfield Sensei.

Now if your question is why arent there any male STUDENT gun, then that is a good question.

All we can assume is that there is males since in the main manga, Funco ran into the boys changing room at school and since the school is for guns, therefore, there are male guns.

I believe according to the main series, the schools are categorized by caliber size. =/

With certain exceptions, HK53 is 5.56mm but classified by HK as a SMG hence she's in Elementary...

i love uzi-chan
that make me a loli??
Well, this certainly fills in some of the behind-the-scenes goings on that I didn't understand in the main manga storyline.
:3 yay, more focus on the highschoolers and the gradeschoolers!
@panzercracker I'm enjoying watching the anime. Cute n relaxing.
God... pinch me! Two quick release XD
@acolyte: read Girls und Panzer, the series of girls driving tank.
Great! I'm in love with Empi and it doesn't make me a lolicon.
ah now tank girls, maybe they'll get their own manga sometimes, "Upotte!! Desu" maybe mmm...
Long time no see, little guns XD
I wonder if they'll make a series with tanks.. Considering they had one with battleships XD (tho that one was Strike-witches style)
