Actually the truth is that it was axed for a pretty stupid reason. Back in chapter 39, when Tamasaburo was showing Masa the badges of the schools he'd conquered, one of Miyashita's assistants snuck in the name of a real school. The administrators of that school complained to Shueisha, and they in turn blamed Miyashita for a lack of oversight, axed the series, the manuscripts were lost or destroyed, and they stopped printing tankobon beyond the first one, which went out of print shortly after. It wasn't until 2012 that Shueisha finally decided to print the whole series, which they had to scan from the back-issues of the magazines and retouch. So we're incredibly lucky to be able to read this series at all.
But for those of you dissatisfied by that ending, don't worry, Schoolcap Masa will return in another manga. It seems that Miyashita really liked that character (and for good reason!).
No, this is what you call "Editors being unable to handle the mother fucking intensity of this goddamn crazy manga!"
Thanks HnG, this was probably the my favorite miyashita series I've read thus far.
thats what i call axed lol
what the hells up with that ending
even the parents are interesting in this one.
The new sports festival chairman is a genius.
Chapter 21, pg. 1: "I bet you fools think I'm Masa." Says someone whose shoulder width isn't four times greater than their head width.
Yeah. You sure had us fooled.
DON'T CRY RISING-SUN, YAKUZA DON'T NEED BITCHES
Best way to describe the art: Overuse of motion lines
first fighting manga where they're proud of a guy who resorts to guns. being a yakuza isn't as much about the honorable one-on-one, as simply getting what you want no matter what underhanded means you have to use.
can't wait to see how this will end... thanks for the chapter!
Thanks for the new chap!
there aren't enough thanks in these comments...
i really like this manga, so please keep translating. masa's an interesting character.
It looks like the author made a revival of that serie in 2011

i like the antiquity, it's a nice break from everything else
There just so happens to be a sequel/remake done in 2011. I'd gladly translate it (I'm the one translating this one) but I can't get my hands on the raws. If anyone can help, let me know!
this manga would be SO much better with 2011+ art lol
Nah, this is older then otokojuku...
A school that teaches how to be yakuza, from shakedown lessons to fighting
yakuza ver. of otokojuku?
