Judging by the description I thought this might be a fairly standardized shoujo manga but that didn't quite gel with the tags. So I checked it out and found it started fairly predictably and then took a turn about as jarring as being hit by a speeding truck. It ends with a couple of things unresolved, but overall definitely worth a read.
