Tough

Alt Names: alt Tough: Season IIalt TOUGH-タフ-alt تاف
Author: Saruwatari Tetsuya
Artist: Saruwatari Tetsuya
Genres: Action ActionDrama DramaMartial Arts Martial ArtsSeinen SeinenSports Sports
Type: Manga (Japanese)
Status: Complete
Description: This is a mixed martial arts fighting manga about the Miyazawa school of martial arts. Initially, it is about Kiichi trying to heal his father after he was nearly killed by his brother Kiryu. But then it goes on to be less about that as his father recovers and some tournament style fighting begins. At that point various apparently overwhelming opponents will encounter Kiichi on his way to the top. The objectives of the various characters start to play a more and more important role, as well as the different philosophical projections of several martial arts and disciplines. (Somewhat maybe like a modern day Samurai story.)

This is also a continuation of Koukou Tekkenden Tough which followed the main character, Kiichi, when he was younger and was training under his father Seiko Miyazawa. (Knowing the prequel isn't necessary at all.)

Thank you, for all the hard work. The art was outstanding, it is a great manga indeed.

What kind of an ending even was that? Didn't Kiichi still have an official battle against Son-O (as the "Battle King") to fight? Did the author totally forget about the final match of the Hyper Battle? Or did I just totally miss when that happened? If so, someone please link the chapter. Because while I do remember Kiichi and Son-O having a small fight--which was more like a sparring match--I sure has hell don't remember anyone winning the prize money or title, even though the Hyper Battle was pretty much the first 2/3 of this sequel series.

That part was explained at the end of the hyper battle.

Spoiler

Thanks for the contribution guys.

Was that arc even fully scanlated?

... see for yourself. Is batoto missing any chapters since son-o was introduced? No, the spiny back team filled them all in. Every arc has been scanlated. The reason it feels like it hasn't is because the author dropped some shit on the ground in order to reveal kiichi's true father, which exactly 0 people cared about learning during the hyper battle

Thank you so much The Spiny Back Team for all the work that has gone into competing this!!!!

Meh.

Thank you Spiny Back Team for all the work and effort put into finishing the series.

A bit cheesy towards the end, but overall a great read. I had a blast following this manga for... how many years was it again? Time went by like nothing, which just goes to show how good Tough is.

Big thanks to all scanlating groups that have picked this one up, especially TheSpinyBackTeam for scanlating volumes at a time. You guys really pulled through! Any chance you'll pick up the prequel Kokudou Tekken Tough? It would be a HUGE shame for it to stay unfinished.

And that's a wrap. It's been an extremely entertaining ride and I can't say I've regretted a moment of reading.

The "Another Side" segments are wonderful. (And there's a great fight going down too, I guess.)

"You suck." Kids are so cruel.

Finally, I've made it to this point lol. It has become one of my favorites. Thank you!.

OMG... that face at the end of the "Other Side" for chp 392... Probably the only time you will ever see fear in his face....

Volume 34-26, page 467: “They say that life was created 46 billion years ago”

Sooo, who screwed up here? This manga’s author? Or TheSpinyBackTeam’s translator/typesetter? Personally, the ridiculous amount of typos makes me believe it’s the latter but who knows ...

Damn! Thanks for the plentifull chapter updates.

Merci au traducteur pour cette massive release, j'ai cherché le reste des chapitres il y'a quelques année sans résultats, si je me trompe et que ce n'est pas une traduction de la version française bah... Thanks guys

I guess Kiryuu's new nickname is "Worf"...

Thanks for the chapters, SpinyBack!

from MMA to Ninjas lol

It kind of seems like this new arc is a step down in terms of enemy skill. He was fighting masters and now he's back to MMA level fighters. He should be able to school any enemy he fights with his ghost punches alone.

Really though. I was expecting him to finish this match with the quickness especially seeing how he has to face Son-O soon you would think these kind of guys wouldn't give him a problem sure he is coughing up blood but he fought better after his father almost ripped his throat out. Also what happened to that force field technique he showed in the first fight against "The Wind" Minoru why not use that to shield against the kick.
