Was interested at first but interest quickly waning. Girl is hateful and spiteful and the guy just takes it all in good stride... Cheerfully optimistic or just letting others walk over him.

The way I figure it, this is a wonderful chance to see how things don't happen. Fiction gives us a chance to see things that would absolutely never happen in real life!
Let's be honest the positive dude would end up going all smiling serial killer. The tough looking guys never win.
Well one thing you can say about the MC is that with the cloak of positivity he seems to be wearing he will never feel the chill of of rejection or a one-sided love, he just won't notice it or will somehow twist it to be good. Ironically, that crazy level positivity may drive everyone else into an early grave but will probably keep him happy and healthy for a long time LOL.
Honestly haven't really gotten into the main characters yet though, kinda just hoping for more blonde vs teacher.
Could we please go battle royale for one chapter, have the piercing dude kill the positividoofus, and then get back to the vanilla slice of life the chapter after?
The blond guy and especially the teacher are best characters in the whole manga.
Funny how the main pair is the least interesting.
