I feel like they rushed the hell out of it and it had some good potential. Too bad right?
Yeah, it's hard not to compare the two of them when you've read both. Somehow this one give the same vibe (I've read holyland first).
how do i say it... it start strong and promising, but in the end it give weak impression and looks like rushed and axed(i dont know if it does axed though) . overall its quite good read, its quire rare these day to see martial art manga
The story is just too rushed, with fighters literally popping out of nowhere and disappearing just as quickly once beaten. The romance-subplot was almost nonexistent, which is a huge achievement, takent that there are THREE love interests. Actually, now that I think aboiut it, two of the love-interests worked the same way as the fighters: they just appeared out of thin air, without any previous indication of their future role... And the same could be said about the sensei-characters as well... You know what, I retract my previous statement. EVERY character in this manga was an one-trick-pony, aside of the male and female lead, of course.
But back on topic: The pacing was horrendous. It's not just that the endin was rushed, but the entire story had this weird pacing issue that made following the events really hard (though I partially blame the panel-layout for that... -.-).
Finally, the actual fights are... uhh... I was not impressed. ಠ_ಠ
One could call the fights the culmination of all my gripes with the story. They come out of nowhere, we know nothing about the opponents, the battles are disjointed and hard to follow and the resolutions are just silly.
So... yeah, I wasn't impressed. The story held promise, but the execution was just too rushed and lacked proper buildup. The best I could say about it is that it's short, so it's perfect for those occasions when one wants to read something simple real quick.
Overall, on a 10 point scale I would give this one a strong 4. It's not necessarily bad, but it's below average in almost every regard.
It's similar to Holy Land
Totally different, but the way they want to protect their 'holy land' is very similar.
I read Holy Land first so that's why I compared this to that.
I bet I would have said the same thing vise verse if I had read this first and then read Holy Land.
They're both good. I like stories like this.
