this one, no doubt, is one of the most beautifully drawn webtoon i've ever read.
Thanks you very much EGS!!
The story has taken an interesting turn..
It'll catch up in two years....hopefully. Thanks EGS for scanning up until now~
ah...licensed at a critical moment T.T Who knows when the official licensers will catch up T.T
The images for chapter 63 are out of order. Sad to hear this scanlation of it is over, but thanks, E.G.S. for all your hard work!
PSA: This series is now officially dropped by EGS as it has recently been licensed by Rolling Story. We are sorry to see this lovely project go, but please check out the official English version when it comes out in July to support the artist. Special thanks to everyone who have worked on and supported this series.
I believe this is pretty much it. Creatures may have come into existence before her, but have not lived as long as her. Also, I'm pretty sure they're only referring to sentient living beings, not turtles or fungi.
Wait, how the hell?
Ah...Politics. It trivialise good and evil
Inb4 Vampires' civil right movement.

Looks like they are? Or spores, roots etc aren't considered "living beings" now?
I don't remember exactly what it said in the webtoon, but either the author didn't think it through that much (several centuries already feels like a long time to most people), or maybe the author meant that Rose was the oldest living being in the world. Sure, dinosaurs and other organisms may have been alive before Rose existed, but they're not alive now, or in the time the story is set.
I know, that lots of facts from 25-26chapters contradict each other. Comparing Rose to her so-called children has nothing to do with it. It is, at one point, said that she has lived eternally and at another, that it was a very long life. Moreover it says "the woman was the oldest being in the world". Let's classify the terms "being" and "world" then? Because there are organisms much older than 80k years on earth. So to be the oldest being, she should be much older, than not only Cro-Magnon, but even Idaltu humans. Just like I noted b4, if she's as old as homo sapiens overall, then it may roughly cut it after all. We don't know much about vampires at this point, even their gain of intelligence is uncertain. But none of 'em, regardless of the lifespan, can be older than Rose, since she seems the sole procreator.
To a human from middle ages it may be so, but to a modern XX+ century human anything less than 13.7-13.8bil. years old just might be comprehensible (actually even quite older stuff, if you speculate theoretically), for we don't know much, but just enough, to have studied and observed stuff that old. Are dinosaurs incomprehensible? Some of them have lived over 200mil. years ago. What it feels like to be millenia old is a different matter altogether. I suppose, it's the reason, why fiction of that kind is so interesting.
You do know that to be the "oldest" only means that there are none older than her Vampires may have a finite lifespan despite their imortality(perhaps from offing each other getting hunted etc as such their may not be any that are super ancient... or hell even cancer)
To a human a thousand years is incomprehesible as only a few of us live to be 100. Honestly some fiction have way too old vampires...
Would be nice, if the story focused around Mari for now. Tired of watching Rose' neverending suicidish emo death searching campaign. Why does she have to stay a child anyway? All this pointless hysteries and crying, child's hormones kicking, meh. The oldish witch used to be more or less composed by comparison, sigh. Anyway, I like local ghouls and vampires. Much more realistic portrayal, than in other asian media.
Back to Rose, why the hell the main character has to be so mysterious? I still don't understand a thing. Her descryption is full of oxymorons. What about age? Oldest living being? Thousands years old? Wtf? Isn't she merely a toddler compared to some spores and other record holders, which are 40-200+ k years old... Outlived all, that knew her? Erm, even a mortal can achieve that xD. She personally says, that she's only a millenium old, when the memories kick back in? Hadn't even seen the old Roman empire then. Doesn't sound like much for an ancient vampire. Emanon, for example, is over 3bil. years old, making her only some 4 times younger, than the universe itself. Not bad, even evolution is of no mystery to her. The dude from the movie Man from earth is 14000years old. Pretty much claims to be oldest human alive and just aged enough to have actually seen the movement of earth's slabs. The progenitors of the vampirian race from the Vampires chronicles by Ann Rice are merely 6000 years old. They witnessed the major part of human civilization. Hopefully we shall reach the origin of the main character, for if she trully is the oldest entity, why lie about mere 1k years? Head in the clouds? Regardless, she should be at least as old as the homo sapiens, which would make perfect sense, as to how she came to be, for evolution can be twisted all right.
Ahhhh finally Marie's instincts kick in.
If I remember correctly she was a childhood friend of Pierre whom Rose attacked in a frenzy of hunger. She was later discovered to be a Quarry/sub-vampire so Rose took her in.
anyone mind refreshing my memory? It's been a while since i read this... (and I really don't want to go through and re-read the whole season 1) Who's marie again?
I used to want Pierre and Rose together but...Idk how to feel about that after the revelation. xD And I don't think Rose changed, it's more like she reverted back to how she used to be.
I never looked at the raws so Idk, but the route its heading towards seems to be
i feel like Rose is a real victim here but i loved her old character more
how did she become soo different. she used to be soo sweet
i wanted her and Pierre to be together but ...
aaargh the feels in this is too much
my head is spinning! i wanna know wat is gonna happen! >_<
I appreciate the effort the author put into part 1 but it took too long to get going. 20 chapters of nothing. Totally worth reading though, part 2 looks really interesting.
Well then....Pierre is definitely gonna be more messed up after this. He's already conflicted about being a hunter; there shouldn't be any room for sympathy yet.....he's clearly hesitating.
Thank you very much for the new chapter!
This series is my only joy left since Batoto dropped all Naver titles.
I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am that I still have one series to look forward to and to wait for.
Thank you so, so, so much!
P.S I'm sorry if I sound dramatic
