So if I'm reading this correctly, 23-year-old Norei took Utsugi in when he was roughly 7–8, shortly after both of them lost both of their parents, which means she's 31 now. Okay, good: not as weird/tasteless/cliché as I'd initially thought.
Losing both of your parents at 23 is unusual too, maybe her parents' deaths were related to the Utsugi murders, although that seems fairly unlikely.
Initially, I'd also thought Utsugi was being overly dramatic when he talked about shaving 3 minutes off his time, down to ~33 minutes, but if that's a 10-k, we're talking an average of 5 minutes 10 seconds for 6.4 miles, now his unease makes sense.
bought and started reading the first volume of the LN for this. feels so much darker than i thought :S
The backstory is revealed at the very start of the novel so I'm guessing we'll see it next chapter. The title mirrors Utsugi's motivation and ability and it's actually quite interesting despite how angsty it is.
One chapter and you think you know their personalities and strength? Wait until after the Biter arc before you judge characters please.
Personally I think Isolator is Kawahara Reki's best work yet. Swort Art Online and Accel World might be more popular now but as more Isolator volumes get released I'm betting it will overtake both.
I'm sure some people out there might/will like it, but that doesn't mean its good.
And who knows, maybe it gets really good later on. But I'm in the school of 'if I have to read ~100 chapters for it to get good, its shit'-mentality.
You keep on trucking pal. Oh and it wasn't so much as questioning as more of light hearted stab, but yeah, I see why you're recruiting lol.
Ty for the release.
Actually, you're right.
I guess when I was editing the PSD file and saved it via JPEG. It double saved.
I'll go release the v2 with correct number of pages with the PR version
For your question whether it was PR'ed. Yes it was, but it was done by me so I'm not really sure if I did well versus an actual PR doing it.
@Nekoshou
You got repeating pages m8. This really hasn't been proofread has it?
MC seems too edgy
Why oh why the cliche of someone rescuing people out of harm-way always include the said rescuer getting in the harm-way instead...
Just hug the girl, and jump backward (or any direction that's safe)... there!
It was safer, and for sure nets you more affection points.
So you can say, if you can't even enjoy this first chapter, you will think the novel is terrible too.
I actually sighed a lot when I was reading the novel out of disinterest, it wasn't my cup of tea for sure, but some out there might like it. After all, it got published insteas of hundreds of others.
I see Junpei on the cover.
Well the light novels are already in English so I'm sure hardcore fans of the series will come crush you soon.
That said, terrible first chapter.
The story is nothing like sword art online. It's more like a shounen version of parasyte, and nothing mind bending.
I get the feeling this title sounds better in Japanese, it is a little angsty. But so far the opening has quite a bit of angst in it. The MC got scolded for something he felt was unfair and became more reclusive as a result. Though the one girl who admires how he was and will probably try to get him to be cool again is something that could work.
I will reserve my opinions because the author could just write this into a more typical pandering setting later on. He has a track record of doing that in his other works after all. =P
i keep seeing the light novel in stores, but as im not a big fan of novel reading, ive been passing it. good to see it's got a manga adaptation
Not exactly sure what you're talking about. The girl shows no sign of being clingy, the boy shows no sign of being arrogant.
Oh god ... Already one stupid clingy female character you're sure to hate, and another arrogant yet weak one you're also sure to hate, come on now Japan ...
from author of sword art online?
followed
seems interesting
