Description: In middle school, Ichinose Kimitaka taught his friends how to play basketball. Despite his experience with the sport, his friends quickly outmatched him in skill. After an incident brought on by his frustration and jealousy, he was crushed to overhear those same 'friends' discussing how they wished he'd just kill himself.

On his way to toss out his special basketball shoes, he met a girl who was just as frustrated, throwing her own dancing shoes away. She was so tall, and her hands and feet are so large, that she had been rejected from her chosen hobby of Spanish dancing. He urged her to give basketball a try, and the two exchanged their shoes instead of throwing them away.

As he enters high school, Kimitaka learns that meeting him changed that girl's life for the better, and she is now a happy, social basketball player. Will Kimitaka be able to find the courage to make new friends and pursue his own talents?

Just checked this after three years, and it's already finished. Like everyone else said, really wished there was more, but I understand why the author ended it there.

Spoiler

I also really like the fact the author kept emphasizing how uncool Kimitaka actually was. LOL. I'm so glad that he didn't suddenly become 'cool' to everyone just cause he started dancing.

Spoiler

There was also something I really enjoyed about the how the story began.

I think I could go on and on about how awesome this manga was but uhhhh I'll stop there :'D

Good thing I read this after it was done, if I had to wait a month for these chapters I would be FURIOUS.
Regardless, it was really enjoyable.

Great manga, I love stories like this. The end came rather abrupt, but was still beautiful. I wish the epilogue was a little longer, some characters also didn't get enough focus imo. 9/10, will definitely come back to read this again.

In the beginning when I saw how similar the drawings of Tsubaki and Yuzu, to the point where I had to reread previous chapter to make sure they're different person, I thought "ahh, may be the author was just too lazy to make any variants/traits to her characters". But when I found out they were actually twins... Ooops, ok, took it back ^^"

Most of characters in this manga seem retarded. It is playing with readers emotions using half assed methods.

The truth is that the piece of literature doesn't get better the sadder it gets.

I laugh so much reading, how are you calling this cliche filled thing masterpiece.

Actually the background characters are much more interesting than MCs.

Damn, I read it from start to finish and I want more... What about the nationals? Rival teams? More development in their relationship?

Why'd it have to end so fast...? Ugh.

what a nice and great manga, glad to have found this, I'm really getting into reading manga about music or dance where one can express their feelings in different forms.

and pretty glad that kiss was so cute and ended in a good note, and the part with the spanish at the end, priceless (I'm a spanish native speaker so pretty glad to see it mixed with the english in a good way).

This is a true masterpiece, a fine piece who gives me hope.

I really liked this manga because although it was a "sports" manga, it never dwelled much on the skill of the characters. Even if there were auditions or dancing events, it was never about what they danced, but how the dance affected their development, or in Fujimoto's case, how basketball influenced her. While I was a bit disappointed I didn't get to see more of Fujimoto and interactions between the two, I think that final picture of all of the characters sitting next to each other smiling really closed it well.

:) I wish i had more to say but... This manga is such a master piece that any words that I would dare try to use to describe it would be an insult. So instead i will just let my smile describe it for me.

damn right...sahara mizu sensei work really is awesome....i'm...i'm...i'm not crying T-T

i hope one day i can smile like them

Finally read this.  Glad I did.

It is very good.  One of those where the sweet couldn't be as sweet without the bitter . . . but y'know, the drama never seems forced or milked; people's problems are what they are, and sure the . . . sequence and timing of events are arranged to make the points, but it's done with a certain delicacy.  I've read some manga . . . and especially manhwa, oh boy . . . where the drama is like wham, wham, wham, come on, I'm gonna keep hitting you over the head with it until you give me your tears, dammit, and then I'm going to hit you over the head some more.  This never does that; even if things sometimes fall in a row a little conveniently, it always lets me maintain my suspension of disbelief and it delivers--if events are arranged so the mangaka can get an impact, that impact is beautifully delivered.  Great characters, some good humour, leaves you wanting more, overall great manga.

I remember looking back on this years ago and thinking that this would never get translated. Thanks, Maigo, I love Sahara Mizu's work.

When is the last chapter? *waa cannot wait*

So 27 was the last one! Can't believe I was waiting for 28+

I happened upon this during a random sweep, and it sounds good.

From the commment section it also seems to be a good one.. Should I give it a try?

I imagined the last dance go something like this:

the ending is good... not sure if it's the best ending for this manga but still good...

and another good manga has ended...

My favorite manga ended just like that :( i want more !!!

IM NOT CRYING

Beautiful. Although I wanted the story to continue, it had the perfect happy ending. I hope the characters continue to be happy and live life to the fullest. I'm gonna. Go. Cry. Now.

Gosh ! Do I love this mangaka <3 Can't wait for her next story :3

Honestly surprised it ended :o, damn...

I wanted him to pick out her shoes too lol, COME ON!! xDD

It ended too soon! T_T

I wanted moar rabu rabu moments! T_T!

Love the art and the story tho.

Would be lurking on Sahara Mizu's work~!

Even if it ended, I'm not going to "unfollow".
