http://vatoto.com/reader#f78a0a5e64ac6fe9_24What a coincidence.. so did she? XD

Whoa an update! Although I've kind of lost track of the story and didn't really understand the ending, I'm glad it's complete so that I can read the entire story again at a later time. Thank you Futago Scans!

So I read the whole manga through all over again. Absolutely loved it. I personally thought the transition from lighthearted to dramatic was pretty gradual and a natural progression. Such a sad ending :'(

I do wish they spread the last chapter out a bit more though, so there would be more action and less exposition. I would have liked to have the last chapter been their life back to normal, but I really do like the callback to the first scene of the manga :) Thanks Futago Scanlations!

I continuously come back to check whether chapter 66 is up,

will my dream of finishing this manga ever come true? :')

Y'know, I've been thinking about re-reading this, as I'm starting to get a little lost on who some of the side characters are too.  And I do have access to Inspiration 8, so If I do start reading it again I'll make a Relationship Chart as I go through it.

We're on the last volume!! FUCK YEAH!! About time we get some REAL answers and a conclusion! I know I'm going to be really sad once this actually ends but for now..... YES!!

Also, did I just see and older Saizou and Shinobu on the cover? I'm so excited to see them all grown up!

And I could use one of those relationship charts, the ones with pictures of everyone's face and lines with arrows that say

--loves-->

<--good friend-->

<--killed parents of--

--tried to assassinate-->

You forgot the ----pretending to be---> and <---frenemy-- ones, too. :lol:

I started reading a manga that was fun and headed towards romantic, with a nice little undercurrent of conflict with the status quo that might lead to some form of rebellion against the older generation.

For quite a lot of chapters now instead I've been reading a revenge tragedy about a cold-blooded and dysfunctional family dedicated only to power and their conflict with a cold-blooded and dysfunctional faction dedicated only to bloody, indiscriminate revenge and visiting the sins of the fathers on the sons and daughters, unto whatever generation it takes.  And I keep losing track of just who everyone is and which ones have a right to grievances against whom.

I do want to find out what's going on, but I must say it's not the manga I started out reading and it's not nearly as much fun as the manga I started out reading.  And I could use one of those relationship charts, the ones with pictures of everyone's face and lines with arrows that say

--loves-->

<--good friend-->

<--killed parents of--

So happy many people reading this :') One of my favourite, because, I dunno why, I feel that all the component gives a gentle... feelings (?) especially the artwork and Shinobu and Saizo's relationship. Keep reading till the end, because the truth is ...truly unpredictable.

Wait... how is all this Russian doll, hide-the-princess stuff supposed to stop revenge-cycles, again?  Because, the way I'm looking at it... they've just raised another generation of people with a very strong grudge against them to really keep that grudge alive thanks to the whole cloak-and-dagger thing. <_<

Well done, the Oshiro family: ten out of ten for long term strategy of "don't explain anything to any of the kids and let them grow up to stew". :P And, where did I put that number for Child Services...  I'm pretty sure deliberately raising somebody under a false flag (and, without any real preparation for the truth beyond "sucks to be you: deal with it") counts as some form of abuse.  That goes for several somebodies, here. <_<

I have this funny feeling that the former Oshiro leader killed Saizou's and Sasuke's parents because they were planning to assassinate him and everyone who shares the bloodline, in some sort of twisted reasoning on loyalty.

Found this yesterday, read all of it *-* Very happy

@ PLG;  This all makes perfect sense to me. (etc)

Yeah, I know.  I just don't like it, at a visceral level.  To quote myself,

It makes it harder for me to appreciate this whole arc, even though I can believe people with that kind of traditions might think that stupidly.

You know, waaaaaay back when at the beginning of the story, when the Plot consisted solely of Shinobu abusing Saizou's loyalty to tease him and making googly eyes at the guy who turned out to probably be her father, I remember thinking that it might be interesting for the Manga take a turn for the dramatic and show some of the negative aspects of being a Princess.

I was not actually expecting them to actually do that.

@ PLG;  This all makes perfect sense to me.  We're dealing with a group of people who have literally been raised from birth to regard the Oshiro Family as a monolithic clan which is universally their superiors.  The entire social structure is built on the children inheriting their roles and affiliations and reputation from their parents.  And now that's coming to bite them in the Ass.

Loyalty to the Parent is Loyalty to the Child.

Hatred of the Parent is Hatred of the Child.

After reading 4 updates of Gakkou Gurashi I come to see this! This has been a good day :D

Spoiler

Maybe that's why they want Shinobu to reveal her secret:

Spoiler

Oh god.... This is sooo good. I usually dislike too much drama but this definitely paces itself so well and it keeps me on the edge! All the characters are really fantastic as well :D

I find it hard to wrap my head around a mentality so obsessed with clan that they routinely blame the children for the sins of the parents.  I don't find it implausible, it seems people do it, but it's just so basically insane, with no shred of logical fig-leaf for the mentality, that it keeps breaking my immersion when someone says something like "How can you help her when her parents did bad things to your parents?", and even more when nobody points out the obvious "Uh, 'cause that was her parents and she was a little kid who had nothing to do with it".  Everyone just goes along assuming that she somehow inherits their sins in some meaningful way, without ever having to defend the nonsense.  It makes it harder for me to appreciate this whole arc, even though I can believe people with that kind of traditions might think that stupidly.  Isn't there even one court jester who could scandalize everyone by saying something rational?

Spoiler

Gone is the cuteness.

Drama abound.

Uhm, isn't Shinobu's father

Spoiler
Plus it's not like she is particularly fond of the deceased Oshiro's leader. So she isn't really anybody's enemy. Still from her breaking down like that, I can see how her mother lost all of her spirit.

Apparently, there's the mysterious girl who is the real Oshiro heir, and who the kidnappers are taking order from. So the kidnappers are either not knowing this fact, or being manipulated.

And since when does Saizou have an older brother? O_o

Yeah read Purple Library Guy's spoilers.

While Saizou's nicely pragmatic plan seems to have worked, it also has the potential to blow up in his face.

Spoiler

He may have just burned all of his bridges.

So, big reveal . . . except

Spoiler

Man, this is just getting better and better. Thanks Wnee for spoiling me with the fast double-release  :D

Whoa.  First, thanks so much Wnee Scanlations for doing the updates so fast in general, and doing a 2 chapter release that got us past the ch 36 cliffhanger in particular.  That was great.

So, near as I understand,

Spoiler

Gah.  This clan would be better off falling apart.

So as of recent chapter, she IS a mistake, lol. The clan did its damnest to get her out of sight, and her mother has neither the heart nor the will to make any difference

The seemingly powerful clan matriach turned out to be a powerless political pawn. Wait, so who's the Big Bad now? O_o Clan council ?
