So MC hates people for being weaker than her and hates them "for having everything" AKA being stronger than her. Ain't she just a bundle of hate.

When people use the term fanservice, they usually refer to visual sexual appeal, not fantasy fetishes. Things like swimsuits, bath/shower scenes, cleavage shots, boob grabs, accidental pervert moments, etc. And indeed, aside from the sort of light sportswear the girls wear, there isn't really any of that sort of thing in Teppu at all.

I wasn't being entirely serious. The girls are attractive, though. Especially the ones with sadistic tendencies or of the insane variety with thick eyebrows.

I felt like it was full of fan service! Maybe we just have different preferences, I love imagining Kotani-sama giving me a beatdown! And that sexy jawline... It's stronger than steel, I tell you!

From eyebrows to a mentally unstable female protagonist with a tendency to joyfully toy around with her cute fellow freshman until she's about to break out in tears... I'm quite surprised that there was nothing of fan service to you.

It's kinda lacking in that department. As in, like, none at all. Not even a single swimsuit scene.

I have to disagree, though it depends on one's perception of 'fanservice'. Sure, a beach epilogue with all the tournament competitors in epic swimwear would've been awesome, but I'm plenty happy with attractive & athletic young women in fairly revealing sports clothing (for the record, Du-Na is my favourite as far as aesthetics go).

Which isn't to say I dislike this manga. This is definitely a wonderful gem. All the girls have been enjoyable characters too.

This is the sports manga that should have been made into an anime: NOT KEIJO!!!  This is how you subvert tropes, maintain fanservice, and challenge the genre without devolving to the lowest common denominator.  Seriously, F U C K Keijo!!!

And with a more badass MC. Natsuo is a magnificent asshole.

Yes she is... (towards the ending spoiler)

Spoiler

Only just stumbled across this. Haven't begun yet, but, hmm. It seems similar to, but tighter and more concise than All-Rounder Meguru?

I want a part 2!

This could be longer! Smoothly Axed??

In this case.. the Author was sick and wanted to end the series early instead of leaving it open ended

Why is it the mangas with the really interesting characters always get axed? Are the readers in Japan really that shallow and superficial?

Here's my version of it.
Mawatari Yuzuko pursues strength, getting stronger, winning at all costs. She has abandoned her humanity just to continue fighting and continue getting stronger.

Spoiler
She wants to crush her opponent, every time she speaks or thinks of doing so she feels "sublime". She has never won without doing so throughout the whole story as far as I remember. So she didn't achieve enough strength to achieve ultimate victory, rather it would have been considered a narrow one. Plus if she lets her continue training she'll have someone strong to compete later and will thus have further room for improvement. In such a manner she also spars with Sanae occasionally as shown in the far beggining of the manga.

Now perhaps we can hope for further continuation of the manga some day, with the G-Girl tournament for stage, where we will indubitably see Natsuo crushing at least the gold medal wielder.

She slowly descends into more powerful and deadly techniques and learns ansatsuken thus absorbs the satsu no hado and becomes a demon

She didn't throw the match she just got beat. Just look at the timing, she only saw her brother the moment she lost. Sick manga, good to have a different kind of protagonist. Wish there was a little more resolution with the brother but it seems like things just go on which is hella realistic.

Goodbye Natuso, one my favorite female protags ever.

This was a great manga, but the whole backstory angst thing just didn't click for me.

Spoiler

Whether you found Natsuo's characterisation convincing or not is a different matter, but I'm pretty sure that she didn't "throw" the match. She clearly tried her outmost and still lost, it's just that by losing to a girl as abnormal as Mawatari (who, in real life, would probably be some kind of functional sociopath, the way she's portrayed)  she feels that she "Won at being normal", a.k.a her abnormal talent did in fact have limits to how far it could carry her.

Huh. And with so many uses of the word abnormal, I feel like I'm writing a Medaka Box review. Anyway, that's what her last "I win" means. At least that's my interpretation of it.

so she wanted her brother to care so that's why she threw the fight?

natsuo faked a rear strait and went for a knee when mawatari shot in for a takedown but grazed the knee on purpose to throw the fight on perpose???

someone please explain!

Can anyone explain the whole yuzuko thing? What was she missing / what did Natsuo mean when she said she wasn't like her?

I can't believe I actually seen a very cute chapter, nice final chapter mmm...

Yes! °final chapter° Nooooo! Yes! No.... Yes No Yes... Nooooooo! It's over.... I want more QQ
