Back in college I knew this USAF Major who was in charge of our ROTC. So, when one of his kids asked him how to become a fighter pilot he simply said, "Fighter pilots are the toughest, most badass members of the US military! You need fortitude, persistence, and amazing mental faculty. You know why?"
And to that roomful of excited, inspired jocks he continued,
"80% of a fighter pilot's job is paperwork. If you thought mid-term report was bad, find another career. You'd be trying to kill yourself after three days."
