The lil kid is a cinnamon roll too pure for this world
I mean, it's a remarkably astute portrayal of a self-absorbed "girly girl" type. We were given her perspective first and saw no problems, just her being a blameless elder sister living in a troubled household who loves a princely, gentle big brother. Typical Asian drama heroine sad story; the audience probably sympathized with her plight and all that. Then we saw how her clearly-less-conventionally-pretty sister saw things and realized how the big sister very much lacked introspection about her, hmm, pursuit of male attention. Then we saw from the doctor's perspective how she coldly abandoned the little one and, well...
I'm an ardent feminist and I hate to use the term (sexist, trivialization of people's real issues, et cetera), but that whole hogging male attention thing has gotta be some serious (if unconscious) daddy issues, man.
Alright alright, those backgrounds getting unsettling.

She's lost him two ways. If she loved him, what's she supposed to do now? If they were happy she could be sad and get over it. If he cheated but was still alive she could yell at him and get over him, or maybe yell at him and try to get him back. But this? She loves him and hates him and she can't tell him any of it, she can't get him back and she can't get away from him. No wonder she's bitter. And nobody cares about her side of things.
She should do better. It's not the kids' fault. But I still feel for her.

I'm enjoying the shifting of perspectives from one sibling to the next. It's like gradually seeing the full picture of a time or moment by glimpsing at it through each person's point of view. It's nice not only getting to know each sibling better, but also seeing the view they have of each other.
seeing things through erye's eyes really puts things in perspective.
