I know, because you're traumatized by that game when it's not even related to what we're discussing.

not really, the first act was pretty predictable.

I never know what you guys are discussing

somebody was talking about drugs and cocaine a while back.

so DDLC?

It's like a player who plays a time-limited game, reaches the end and realises he's not strong enough to reach the final boss at the endgame. He resets and avoids his previous mistakes.

eh, it wasn't due to his choice but rather luck. not sure if its gone into in the manga, but in the book its linked to the temporal demon spirit book

Guess no need to keep on using spoiler tags now. :(

Man, she looks hawt!
Gonna miss batoto's comment/like section. :(

Well the winged chick may not be anywhere near Ning'ers hotness, but she's definitely hotter than the purple haired ditz he reincarnated for.

This is more of a [classic shounen] with a [time dilation] beginning than [classic isekai]. Even in the big three there were always people stronger than the MC, who eventually were defeated by said MC.

Y'all just reliving the past.

"A whole ten days had passed..........."

I do have to say that one of the things I like about this story is that the author keeps the main character from becoming so OP that it seems pointless - most of the people he's up against are still stronger than he is at any given time, and his allies remain strong enough to compete (or sometimes even to exceed him.)  Also, his overarching goal of saving the city - which partially requires that he save it from itself, since it was betrayed from within - is one that's actually worth his efforts and is on a strict time limit, so it doesn't just devolve into him powering up endlessly like some similar stories do.

I hope we see more of his little sister in the future, since she seems cute, and he said that in the original timeline she was even stronger than he was.

Not trying to argue, but curious if you would count the current "world" as an "Isekai," since they were teleported there?  I've only recently heard the term "Isekai" in the last few months, and Google has a few different definitions of what considers a "new world," so I'm curious how others interpret this word.
You also mentioned "move to some fantasy world from ours" does "ours" meaning normal life type stuff, or were you referring to their "original" world.?  You then go on to say "otherwise any old fantasy novel is isekai" so I'm assuming that the "new world" is based on their "original world?"
Thanks.

Where the Nie posse is right now is not a new world but rather some other dimension space inhabited by a clan that shares the same meta knowledge and genetic roots.

In that way, there is nothing new but rather long forgotten and rediscovered.

Woah, Nie Li is such GENIUS schemer and How he use Previous life knowledge,

This is why Reincarnate-MC should aimed to be.

I'm ashamed of another MC So-called Reincarnator and Isekai-Wielder.

Nie Li don't Use cheat-skill nor-cheat gift, he use his own brain and knowledge to change his own fate.

Genre boundaries are never completely concrete anyway, and early examples tend to cross them by definition.

For example, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court is clearly an ur-example of stories about people traveling to other worlds and using knowledge or technology to change it.  It's technically a time-travel story, but given that King Arthur almost certainly never existed and is the basis of a lot of medieval-style fantasy, well...  how is it different?  You could slap an author's note on it saying "actually, he teleported to a parallel fantasy universe where King Arthur was real", and it wouldn't change anything.

Though this story is a complicated example because it also has elements of a time-travel story (the MC's goals and motivations are directly related to averting specific events he remembers from the first iteration), so it draws on Terminator-style time travel stories as much as anything else.  Also, the MC is intimately familiar with the world from the start.

(Part of the reason I'd argue that A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court would qualify despite technically presenting itself as a time-travel story is that it focuses so heavily on how different the world the MC arrived in is.)

Not trying to argue, but curious if you would count the current "world" as an "Isekai," since they were teleported there? Isekai as a concept and term has been around for decades, and quite literally means "another world", and is referencing when a character moves from their original world to a different one. It doesn't have to be from modern time, it just had to be a transportation of worlds.

Recently, in the past few years, the term has become bastardized due to popular trends into generity. With all the recent trends of people using modern technology to dramatically change the other world they lived in, typically a medieval fantasy. This concept was overdone, until it got boiled down to "other worldly knowledge"; someone has knowledge that should otherwise be unavailable, whether it be technological advancements, or plot details from a game they got transported into, etc. As a result, "isekai" is no longer referring to the world/universe concept, but rather that world/universe's idea sphere.

This is where the problem begins, in my opinion. You have shifted from something concrete to something more abstract. Since the idea sphere of worlds are in progressive flux, time travel can now be considered isekai. Oracles are another grey area, which arguably fit into the category. As a term, isekai has gotten so diluted that it only now forms a conciet rather than something concrete, and it relatively useless at describing anything alone.

Fundamentally, isekai has undergone a shift in popular understanding from bringing modern ideals and morals to contrast against an arbitrary moral set the author produced in order to explore them, towards bringing information to an ignorant world and exploring the ramifications. The materialistic results of such a shift are far shallower compared to the philosophical contrast that it used to be, that it's become no surprise that many bash the series when it is used.

I'm not sure if I asked this before, but is there any chance we will get any previous chapters of this series uploaded?

It's odd there's a gap and we are just getting chapters in order from the 100's.

Thank you for your scanlations.

Isekai genre is 'moving to another world'. MC reincarnated back in time, not move to some fantasy world from ours, so how is this genre isekai in the first place? Know your genre plz otherwise any old fantasy novel is isekai.

lol i know this is a joke, but if you think this is shit wait a few hundreds of episodes. The author literally pulled a fucking isekai in an isekai novel. You know a new world where legend ranks are the weakest.I know that it has been mentioned before but it sure gets tiresome.

Not surprising, considering Eiichiro Oda pulled a shounen on a shounen just about... 500 times through One Piece.

They're coming at us in droves! Quick someone calls in an orbital strike!
