Tales of Berseria is set in the continent of Glenwood, in the distant past of the Tales of Zestiria game. Central to the setting is the Sacred Kingdom of Midgand, which stretches across multiple large islands and smaller archipelagos. It is large enough to have climate variations ranging between its northern and southern regions, with the northern regions recently experiencing stronger snowstorms as the world grows colder. The Kingdom continues to develop its shipbuilding capability, but due to harsh weather, seaborne trade must still travel well-known paths, which are constantly beset by pirates.
Three years ago, a sickness known as Daemonblight befell the land. The sickness turns people into Daemons, and the world has fallen into an age of chaos. Even then, in a remote region of the Kingdom, the protagonist Velvet lived with her family in relative comfort. A night came when a red moon rose, and she was betrayed by Artorius, who was once her savior. She lost her family, while a mysterious power that consumed demons possessed her left arm. A measure of order returned to the world after Artorius founded the Abbey and the Exorcists. Artorius is hailed as the world's savior, but Velvet harbored only anger for him. |

I'm reading this after having played the game and my only qualm is joking how they're not in their dlc outfits, because Elaine just looks better with her ponytail, the pirate outfits and the servant outfits.
I'm getting flashbacks to all three of those games and you're not wrong in any way, Berseria is just a better story than Zestria in every way, but it was just so sad how it ended.
Xillia is a good story in it's own right, I just found Milla reaaaly annoying.
And Zestria needs to be deleted from history so Berseria could have a better ending.
Because Berseria had to end in a way to match up with the game before it, it's a prequel to Zesteria after all.
Being a tool/emergency meal. Being Laphicet is suffering.
You can understand that poorly constructed block of text?
actually i havent played vesperia and xilia`s yet but its quite sad that such a bad end for zestiria and berseria. ( i know ends has its own path but still both i take them as bad ends why? simply characters or died or imprision themselves. i would had liked dunno a game where velvet its free with laphi and maotelus in his malak form. also if i said the bad things that mean on zestiria i dont have enough time for it. though the thing i hated most its that in game you had to kill eizen. seriously. also its pretty funny the change of zaveid XD berseria he its the pure blood nonkill faction and in zestiria you dont kill then you are stupid ?? wtf XD at least the end of zestiria in anime was a bit better with eizen recovering his mind even in dragon form. BUT what i hated completely in zestiria was the gay theme. cmon not even a try in descendant he sealed himself and travel again with his gay partner and both girls stay together as a lesb couple... seriously i will start playing xilia next week since i just bought them for ps3 but does it have at least happy ending with couples formed? from what i noticed in berseria secret fight those 2 though jude like milia seems nothing never happened or did?
Agree.
then you probably should try playing tales of link... the story is good, imo... not that generic and was like "oh!! so it was like THAT, never thought namco will twist the plot so confusingly but thankfully it was finally unfold one by one near the end of story..." and also somewhat a tear-jerker...
All those daemons. That world must take forever to boot up.
the pacing of the first 2 chapters was terrible, the story exposure even more so. saddening, couldve been good
Magilou is here to steal the show! Reminder: Magilou is pronounced 'awe' as in awestruck at her superior elegance, beauty, and power.
My favorite brocon main girl. except she ain't jin's level of brocon.
Although I only know Tales of Symphonia, Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Zestiria, I still believe that Tales of Zestiria has the best background/story setting of those three games. Sure, the characters and the plot aren't that good, but they are still ok.
Dunno about Tales of Berseria, though, I hope they make an anime out of it like Zestiria, too
Gotta read the Manga for starters
Velvet the Bloodedge lol.
I mean, it's better than Zestiria, but that's not saying much. I hope the next Tales game is better than the past two.
