No longer considered by his father as an heir, he is shuffled off into the country, to live out of sight. The teenage Tamahiko shuts himself in his new home, bitterly thinking of it as the place where he will die. One day, he learns that his father has 'bought' him a bride to take care of him, when the young teen girl named Yuzuki arrives at his door. She comes into his life like an innocent ray of sunshine, and Tamahiko's view of the world and his life starts changing bit-by-bit...

I just realized Sea Otter Scans is S.O.S.

I think they need help.

To some extent . . . but only in the sense that the US figured they should be the ones getting to do fucked up shit in China.  And the Philippines, et cetera.

It's kind of like, today, the US foreign policy consistently shows outrage at China having the damned nerve to have their navy throw its weight around in the South China Sea, when obviously the only navy that should be allowed to do that is the US navy.  Or the US being constantly upset that Russia wants to have influence in countries like Georgia, Ukraine and Belarus when they should realize that those are right next door to allies the US has taken a lot of trouble to add into NATO to encircle Russia!

The foundation of realism in US history is this:  The US talks a lot about democracy and human rights and whatever, but US foreign policy (like that of most powerful countries) has always been about dominating and extracting profits.  On average, they're more likely to prop up dictatorships and take down democracies than the other way around, but they'll go after anyone who's disobedient.

Amazing to see how the world works once you actually look at money and politics.

The US embargoed them because Japan did the fucked up shit in China.

Japan was raping (literally) the hell out of China for a long time before the US stepped in. And throughout the war and after, the US propped up a corrupt dictator in China rather than work with the Evil Communists who were actually fighting the Japanese (when they weren't being attacked by our puppet).

When politicians call for killing people to make their lives better, look for who's profiting if you want to understand the actual reason.

Ryo, girl, you live in an era where polygamy is not outlawed (yet)...

Could have just admitted you liked Tamahiko to air your feelings. Who knows, maybe Yuzu would have liked a sister!

Bride's Tale ftw. (^_~)

(Not arguing for polygamy, just noting that some literary examples portray how it could be theoretically beautiful. Kinda like how some portray vampires as refined, misunderstood antiheroes.)

Tamahiko’s umbrella (depressive mindset that rejects happiness) being broken by Yuzu as a spring storm was a clever subtle metaphor

In the end, everyone is going to spin what happened in the war to fit what they believe, beyond objectivity

a Manga about the struggle of a romantic couple....Turn into a debate about the the justification and consequence of WAR....

Internet... you never seize to amaze me

Japan was provoked into the war. The US embargoed them and helped the other allies without joining the war.

I mean, Japan did do fucked up shit but the one wanting a war Japan vs. USA were mostly the latter.

at least... Ryo is in good hands... still feels sad though

Yeah that was actually getting really sad. Like you can tell she fell for Tamahiko HARD, but loves Yuzu too much as a sister and knows how much Tamahiko loves to say anything. Given how she was introduced...This has to be on of the GREATEST examples of Heel-Face Turn character development in recent history. Like people went from hating her A LOT to straight up being cool with the idea of her being Tamahiko's mistress.

Likely have annexed all of Asia, rather than starting that silly war with the United States.

The silly war you mention came because US was Japan's only oil provider until they closed the tap. No oil = no gas = no machinery working = no war machines = no expansionism. There wasn't any allied oil provider near Japan apart of US, desperation came and knocked the door. The rest is history.

Such a lewd chapter...

They even hold h-hands.

I mean let's be real, Yuzu was undersold. I'd pay twice that much without a second thought, she's past priceless.

makes you seriously wonder where japan would be if they had sane people in the government back in WWII.

I thought it was going to be a fake out the whole time then had my mind blown. But I am happy for them.

This is the guiltiest boner I've ever had.

Like, it feels like I'm intruding in something very special, very personal, very pure and sacred.

I agree with you, I'd actually been very fine with leaving the two by themselves for the night. I understand that it is satisfying and cute to see how close the two have become, but at the same time it is a personal intimacy which feels kinda awkward to intrude upon even as an observer.

how muuch is the debt nowadays?
