Project Alicization, a top-secret government project run by Rath, a company affiliated with the Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF), was started to create the first highly adaptive, «Bottom-up AI». By using a 4th generation FullDive machine, called the Soul Translator (STL), Rath succeeded in copying the Fluctlights (souls) of twelve newborn babies, creating a «Soul Archetype», a non-developed Artificial Fluctlight that could be copied to create new Artificial Fluctlights, which would then need to be nurtured to mature into an individual. For this reason, a virtual world, codenamed «Underworld», was created using the free kernel version of the Cardinal System, The Seed, and then transferred into the STL mainframe via the Mnemonic Visuals feature of the STL.
Underworld is set in a past era, when science and philosophy were just being discovered, but instead of recreating a past era, limited terrain and certain customs were introduced so that the inhabitants of the world would form their own society. |

Hey, if Naruto and the like can get hundreds of episodes, why can't SAO? Is it not popular enough?
That would be so amazing! But they'll probably do it like the manga. Anime's are almost word-for-word with the manga in my experience. I'm sad they've already simplified it. Of course now, it flows more and doesn't focus on one point in time for an absurd chunk like the LN but we didn't feel Kirito's frustration and almost insanity in his thoughts wondering where he was when he woke up. Oh well. I'm still soooo glad SAO is back!!
new chapter asspulled a miracle. now it's there
Maybe but if they do that they will ruin it
I'm fine for long arcs, and I know this arc is huge, but come on there has got to be something they're going to cut out. There is no way, no matter how popular SAO is, that this is going to get that many episodes.
Is this manga dead or something? Or did the TL group that was TLing this dropped it?
I Should Say : The Longest Arc(and the Best arc)
Aincrad + Fairy Dance + Gun Gale + Mother Rossario = Underworld Alicization
If This Arc Gonna Adapted to Anime At Least 52-54 Episode Full Without Filler in Single Episode
no. greatest arc is still Mother's Rosario. it will always be Mother's Rosario. it's a GAU 20mm shooting feels so fast you become depressed. thinking it just brings me back my depression.......i'm useless......
Well in the LN version there was no talk of a defibrillator they talked about CPR instead (in the official translation also about a CPR machine).
This is beginning of his journey in wonderland.
Greatest arc of Sword Art Online going to start now.
damn... I was about to praise the proper use of atropine in a succinilcholine intoxication... then they bring out the defibrillator... why?? why does media like defibrillators so much??
Key Jaws music.
Also thanks gents at DD.
Watch out Kirito, you going to get stab by that guy.
The web novel summary is also garbage. Not only was a lot of stuff just glossed over, but it was also full of bias and, frankly, incorrect info. Not to mention that there are some LN-original scenes and scenes that were changed during official publication.
Instead of the summary, read the light novel. They are translated up to volume 17. Vol 18 will take a while though. Just take a look at the top bar on SAO subreddit.
The LN series is that long. The Manga is releasing really slowly, at one chapter every two months. Latest chapter was only 10 pages though, so the translators are kinda just prioritizing other stuff at this moment.
are those books the LN or the manga? want to know what's with the holdup here with the chapters
It makes up half of the main SAO franchise as a whole, in other words it's as long as the first two seasons of the anime.
10-HWAT? it's longer than the other arcs?
Cute shota...
You ll learn at ~ch5 about the world these events take place. And i can assure you its not a game, nor are all these people just A.I.s. Just be patient, this arc consists of 10 books after all!
Some scientist theorize that we could actually be living in a simulated world running on quantum computers complex enough to simulate anything. So the line between a hyperrealistic simulation and a game may begin to blur
Yes and no, it's more of a legitimate virtual WORLD than a game. The level of detail is far beyond that of a normal game, it is essentially a separate world. You'll find out more about that later on, though.
