Well, in case you don't know:
Sword art online is a light novel adaption^^
Neither the anime nor the manga made the fight scene (and the "game cleared scene" afterwards) as good as the LN^^
One more thing concerning the developer Kayaba Akihko:
He's dead (in the real world)
After having his chat with Kirito and Asuna he made a high-powered scan of his brain, attempting to copy his consciousness onto the internet
He apparently succeeded, but the scan roasted his brain
And why Akihko/Heathciff was so surprised when Kirito all of a sudden literally rose from the dead?
That's because HE designed the system and if the HP drop to zero, after about 10 seconds the nerve gear roasts the user's brain.
But for some reason, Kirito's willpower actually overcame the system, putting the command on halt (Asuna did something similar when she overcame her paralysis)
Well, he ended up losing the initial fight because he activated his skill^^
It isn't shown in the manga/anime, but you can't really cancel your skills and he shattered the sword because the last move of the skill he used was a stab
One more thing:
The red-nosed reindeer arc was actually a side story in the second volume of the LN
The story about the "inner area incident" and the "first day" where they defeated the boss of the first floor, was actually published in LN volume 8

There's actually three types of netorare classified by japanese people who are really into this kind of thing for whatever reason: Type A, B, and C. This actually falls under C.
You know a lot about this kind of things,
People arguing about NTR...
Netoru (to steal one's wife, lover) => Netorare (wife, lover's been stolen)
in a sense where the girl would fall for the other party.
In Manga/Anime World particularly HENTAI, this is taken to extreme by stealing using force or rape and so on.
Anyway, nobody's stolen here, Doujinshi would be a different story though.
and that is definitely not even close to NTR
For those complaining on NTR, its just that the author likes to set things with borderline dark elements. Accel World has something similar too but most of it are emphasized on the inferiority of the main character.

For this? This isnt ntr. This is typical "Damsel in distress" kidkapped by evil mastermind that has plans of ruling the world and plans to take the hero's woman for himself by force. Not NTR. Just an old school plot line.

at least the art is better that Aincrad arc
He's a side character. It's all good.
(That is, the only side character interested in Kirito's harem that doesn't get screwed by Kirito)

I can never get over how much of a bitch Suguha is. Gets someone to teach her how to play game, refuses to talk to that same guy at school, then treats him like crap in-game even though he's like the nicest guy. Man, screw her.
