The manga is getting a tankoubon next month. Since the tankoubon doesn't say "volume X", I assume that it'll be ending with that one tankoubon. Plus, there aren't that many girls around for all 1001 nights.

Yeah because aside from Asuna & Sachi (who dies), it seems like out of all the other girls, Suguha is the only one he's shown to have romantic feelings for. I mean, he loves all these girls (they are his friends/allies), he just not IN love with them.

He's credited for the original story, not as the author, on the manga itself. Unless the manga is the original, the person credited for the art is usually the one responsible for the story or how it's adapted from another medium.

Nah, the original author is only credited for the original story (i.e. for the universe and characters). The plot of this manga is most likely left to the mangaka to do as he pleases.

I gotta say, my respect for this author has actually taken a slight hit. That said, to those that do/will enjoy, I do not judge, and I hope you continue to.
It's serialised on the new SAO Magazine, so yes, it's an actual manga, not a doujin, despite the plot.
